So for those who saw the online note about barnett and evolution not being compatible
I was told by the ppl at evolution industry that there clutch basket would indeed work with the barnett scorpion clutch kit that replaces the stock spring plate with there pressure plate and springs set up. Unfortunately when i pressed the new hub into the basket, there is a grinding noise from what i believe is the inside of the backside of the basket where the threads for the springs sit. Ive tried grinding down the little bit of material from the threads that pop out oh so slightly. But no matter how much i shave them down. It just seems to make contact somewhere else. Im getting nervous about doing to much more shaving as it might permanently damage it. Can someone give me any advice on what to do. Ill include pictures of the hub and basket so you can see what im talking about
So ive been a long time buyer of docs.. been wearing them since i was in my early teens. Needless to say, they had always lived up to their name… that was until this last pair i bought.. So, i always buy the docs made in England, and this time i spent more than Ive ever paid for my docs. Partly due to the steel toe option, that they offer in there 8loop. Spent a little over 300$ for this pair.. I absolutely loved the look of these boots. That leather with a hint of shine, muah, chefs kiss.. I noticed that the left boot was almost twisted in the front right behind the steel toe but in front of the laces. At first i paid no mind to this as i just thought it was normal leather creasing. What was odd about it though, was the fact that the tongue would always slide down to the left, no matter how tight i laced them. As if the twist, crease in the front made the tongue crooked. So its about 2 months in and i notice that the leather had a slit right where the front seemed to be a little twisted. This is when i realized it wasn’t just a crease. I mean i had babied these boots breaking them in and in no way did i do any extreme activities in them. I like to keep my boots as clean as possible as long as possible. So when they started tearing i knew there was some sort of defect. I contacted doc marten, explained to them the situation and showed several pictures of the time laps event that led to the tear. Unfortunately for me, since these boots where a gift i bought myself, a year earlier before i actually put them on or broke them in, i usually wait till my previous pair are completely done before i wear my next pair. I also usually buy them before my current shoes are destroyed for obvious reasons. Anyways since it was about a year and a couple months before i wrote them, they basically said i was shit out of luck. Keep in mind ive only wore these boots for 2-4 months at this point. So here we are a year later if me wearing them as my daily boots and the front of my boot is less then 4 inches away from complete detachment from the rest of my boot. Ill leave a picture so you can see, also with the right boot which wasnt twisted in the front so you can see the difference in wear from the two boots. I cant make this shit up. These boots should have lasted me close to ten years… a year and a half later Im left with this. Sorry ahead of time for this long drawn out post, i just had to get this out since i feel so robbed by the whole experience after almost 20 years being a loyal customer. Maybe im just overthinking it and this is normal. Maybe im overreacting. Either way please, any feedback about this would be greatly appreciated. Ive need to put this to rest finally lol
