Do y’all buy similar styles to what you already have?

Make me feel better ha. I already own the 1460 in crazy horse but i saw the cashew ambassador on sale half price so couldn’t resist. I may have also ordered the cherry red crazy horse 1460s cause they’re just so stunning. How many of y’all have similar pairs? I love them all but my god I have to stop buying docs 🙈

I got these stunning shoes for my birthday, and they are leaving me on in unbearable pain! i’ve broken in regular docs, platform docs & doc loafers but never had any troubles breaking in after the first few wears but my heels are being ripped up/ bloody & the sides of my toes are getting blisters from these! i’ve tried hair drying and beating with a hammer 🤣but no such luck

does anyone on this sub have experience with these shoes?

Need help if I should sizing down❗️

Bought 7US and not sure if I should return for size 6US, I’ve tried a 6US boots and it fits me TOO perfectly so I thought it might hurt my feet but there’s too much gap for 7US WHAT SHOULD I DO😭

I hate my Martens.

I've bought a Jadon Smooth leather pair. And I hate them. Yes, I know the leather should mold to the feet, yes I know it will hurt.

I am tired of constantly being told and reading and being dismissed of what the Martens are causing to my feet though.

I can withstand a LOT of pain. My right feel was bleeding, that's fine. I can handle that. But my left heel bone has started to grow a hard, bony lump on it, due to the hard leather persistently pressing into the bone. I've worn them for only 5 days or so. I'm away from home so I don't have them with me.

I also don't understand, at first the heel didn't hurt. Then it did. To the level of being unable to walk, taking off my docs in public and just continuing on my socks. And maybe people reading this will think I'm a frail, easily bruised peach, but trust when I tell you I truly can withstand lots of pain. But this, with the fact that it creating a bony lump on my heel...

What a waste of my money.

I bought them, liked them, but what am I putting myself through? Deformity of the bones in my feet and bleeding for the sake of shoes? Bruh.

I am simply so mad. What a waste of my money and I'll never have my bone return to the normal shape.

The bone deformity at my heel still hurts and it's been 5 days since I've last worn them. And just in case anybody wants to claim that's not possible: multiple people I know have mentioned the same thing happening to their feet.

I posted this on a different dr martens subreddit but everyone is just down voting my literal personal experience. So I also posted it here.

I am so bummed out by this whole ordeal.

edit: Im sorry, i want to reply to the comments but I can't see them

Attempts to Style New Sandles?

As per last post - I am battling to style these guys. Here's what I've conjured up.

Does this look goofy?

Devastated That I'm Not A Fan

Such a cute pair of sandles - I know they'll look great on someone, but that someone is not me. I look like someone from Codename: Kids Next Door. Organised a return :(

Chunky sandles, I yearn for you.

Farewell Ol’ Reliable

Had these guys since 2019 and wore them pretty much every single day. I’m not exaggerating either, every single day. I love these shoes, they were super comfortable and they went everywhere with me. I traveled the world with them - from pushing a car up an iced over hill in rural Belgium to Mardi Gras in New Orleans & all over - many great memories were made and they carried me there.

It’s crazy how both shoes at the same time cracked in the sole and then I knew they needed to be replaced. Wanted to share their story with strangers on the internet who also love Docs before sending them off. Hoping to get another 7+ years out of the new pair and excited where they’ll take me throughout my life.

Gap at front

Hello to the smartest people I know regarding docs!

I bought my fiancee a pair of white docs to wear from our wedding from Vinted. They came today and are in amazing condition however no matter how tight she tries to tie them, there’s a gap at the front (versus our normal docs where the front lays down).

If anyone can help I’ll be super duper grateful!
Thank you!

How well do Docs hold up if maintained well?

TLDR: how well do Dr. Martens hold up long term? (2+ years)

Smooth leather vs Vegan? Which creases worse?

Hey everyone.

I am on the verge of purchasing my first pair of Docs. But I have some reservations that I'm hoping can be addressed by the kind people of this sub.

Use: So basically I need them to last me a couple of years preferably 3 or more. Mainly for office use so I won't be walking around in them much apart from grabbing something to eat and what not.

Watched some reviews and they said the leather doesn't age well? Even if you use the Balsam? Idk how true that is so maybe someone could give me an unbiased opinion on that

Apart from the wear and tear I think my final concern is whether I should go for smooth leather or vegan. I think vegan will crease less and since the smooth leather has the polyurethane finish doesn't that make the Balsam kinda useless? Idk please lmk what you think.

Thanks for reading. Sorry if this post wasn't very cohesively put but yeah..

Are vegan leather docs Good?

I’m looking online and I found a nice pair of simple black doc boots but they are vegan leather, im mainly just concerned about its durability. I typically always buy genuine leather but in this case these docs are so cheap. I’m also scared of jt flaking and peeling as that happens quite often with faux leather. can someone also tell me the best way to maintain vegan leather? Thank you :)

Dented boots solution?!

So I just bought these boots on thrift

Never owned a boots before so idk how to take care of them!

Anyways there's this dent like small spot on left Boot below the lace! Is there any solution to it?or should I just let it be, seeing the condition of the boots it doesn't seem to be worn!

And any tips to make it long last?

Thanks in advance!

What does this sticker mean?

Just got my first pair of doc loafers and was just curious what this sticker and its symbols mean? I’m assuming it’s just telling me to possibly get some insoles and make sure they’re snug?

sizing

just recently got my first pair of docs and i’m unsure if they’re supposed to be a bit big..? i usually wear 11/11.5 in every other brand i went with a 11 figuring a size 10 would be to small but im not sure now, should i size down? or would it be to small?

UPDATE: i returned them and got a size 10 and they seem to fit a lot better and actually don’t look like clown shoes compared to my feet

Sizing issue :(

Hey everyone :)

I got these shoes almost three years ago and i love them sm , it was a 37 male eu size and i wear female 38-39 size eu

They’re small and tight but not too small they just fit my feet there is no room at all but I figured since it’s male sizing it’d be okay

The thing is they HURT so bad , and fair it’s not my size BUT i went to their store last year and tried EVERY SINGLE SIZE male and female and nothing fits me !! Either too big too small and tight and i think the one i own already fits me better than all of the ones I’ve tried , is there a way to maybe make it more comfortable or make it a lil bigger ? I’ve seen those ice hacks but do they work with doc martens

I’d appreciate ur help :D since i’m gonna wear them for a concert and i know i’ll hate my life if i don’t fix the tightness just a lil bit

"Breaking in" or no good?

*Added spoiler tag for a bit of a gnarly heel picture*

I've owned only one pair of docs in the past, they were no slip Chelsea boots and I had 0 issue, comfy and easy peasy. I bought some Sinclair platform boots in my usual size 10. I messed around with the laces until they fit my foot in every way except the heel. The heel moves around ever so slightly and fucking wrecks my heels. Not blisters, but literally shaving off layers of my skin. I've added insoles, I wear gel blister pads with layers of bandaids and socks.

On the doc page for them, most reviews say they had to size down. I don't know if I need to size down (I fear they'd be too small at that point), or if this is "breaking in" (I don't really know what that even means) or what. It feels like blades are in my shoe and it's making me limp around. Any suggestions? Lost cause? I really hope not because I love how they look dearly.
