Job as as dishwasher for past 2 years on zero hours contract and now shifts have dried up

I've been working for 2 years as a dishwasher, I work hard and have never had one complaint from my employers. I have a zero hours contract that means I have to go in at a moments notice for a shift. This means no social life. Often I wair around to be called for a shift and nothing happens.

I desperately need the job for DUO. I recently turned 21 so am paid at a slightly higher rate.

I was told 2 weeks ago that there would not be many shifts for me going forward. No explanation. Communication with employers or managers has always been sparse at best. I keep my head down and do my work and do a good job for them. I don't know what to do. I haven't had a shift in 2 weeks. The business is still operating.

I don't want to cause trouble for my employers or the stress of legal route but I know I have rights. I just want to work. I need to work.

Any advise welcome
