Why do pro lifers think pro choicers/women who abort are dumb?

So the title may be a bit reductive, but I see this so often I figured I'd make a post about it.

Why do pro lifers seem to think that pro choice people/women who've had abortions "don't know what they're aborting" or "have been lied to, they just don't know what they're doing."

Is this a serious claim or just a tired talking point to try and paint pro choice people as misguided idiots?

First of all, the more educated people are the more pro choice they tend to be (link at end of post).

Second, tons of women who abort ALREADY have children. They've already been pregnant before, they have given birth, they absolutely understand what the stages of gestation are. They understand that a HUMAN embryo is indeed HUMAN.

Third, none of this is even a little bit confusing or complex. Human people get pregnant with human embryos. Duh. We don't get pregnant with giraffe or horse embryos, we all know and understand what is inside someone's uterus when they're pregnant. This isn't some super secret hidden knowledge that only a few can grasp, it's literally basic shit.

So what's the deal pro lifers, do any of you all ACTUALLY believe pro choicers just have no clue what we're doing when we abort, or is it just another pro life propaganda line?

It's not your body

We've all seen the pro life response to "my body my choice", the classic "the baby isn't YOUR body!!"

Okay so if an unwanted zef isn't MY body, I can remove it from MY body immediately, right?

I do not have to keep any other bodies inside my sex organs against my will, right? Surely pro lifers will agree with this statement, correct?

What are the medical benefits of abortion bans?

How does banning abortion and forcing gestation improve the patients health and well being? In this post we're only discussing the pregnant person, so any comments or discussions about the zef will be ignored, since that's not what the question is asking.

So, let's hear how abortion bans benefit pregnant people.

THAT'S NOT WHAT BODILY AUTONOMY IS

Opening laptops and picking up spoons has NOTHING to do with bodily autonomy, holy shit these people literally have no fucking clue what they're talking about but want to be in control of people's healthcare. I would feel sorry for people that are that ignorant but they're forced birthers so no sympathy from me.

Obsessed much?

Can you imagine sitting around and choosing to be fucking miserable because you can't force unnecessary harm onto total strangers? 🤨

These people are truly obsessed with the genitals of strangers. Advice for any lurkers, seek therapy and get a hobby that doesn't involve crying about not being able to harm others.

We don't force you to get pregnant

I see this line frequently from pro lifers and it never makes any sense.

I've never once in my life seen a person claiming that pro lifers are IMPREGNATING people by force. What we all know is that pro lifers are trying to interfere with people's healthcare to ensure they CONTINUE gestating unwanted pregnancies when they otherwise wouldn't.

So what's the point of this statement? Pro lifers who say this, why? It seems totally irrelevant to me and like a way to dodge acknowledging the fact that pro lifers want to ensure people continue gestating against their will by force.

Just don't have sex

Why do pro lifers still try to use abstinence as an argument?

Since the dawn of mankind people have been having sex for reasons other than procreation. People are not going to be celibate their entire lives unless they're trying to reproduce. Sure a tiny miniscule minority of the population might do that, but on a large scale? That will never happen.

For pro lifers that use this argument, why do you use it when it's never been realistic and we all know the majority of people won't do it?

For pro lifers that don't use this argument, why don't you address how unconvincing and unrealistic this argument is when you see your fellow pro lifers using it?

Mental health and life exceptions

Plenty of pro lifers seem to have some version of "life exceptions" when it comes to abortion. It always seems to be if the pregnant person will die they can abort.

I don't need to create any hypothetical situation for this because I can just use myself. I am not mentally ill nor am I suicidal. If I got pregnant and had my healthcare interfered with and was being forced to gestate against my will this would make me suicidal. If my healthcare continued to be interfered with I would end my life before being forced to give birth for pro life desires.

If I went to my doctor and explained this, that I was suicidal SPECIFICALLY due to an unwanted pregnancy and being forced to gestate against my will my doctor would recommend abortion as an option which I would take. This would completely solve the suicidal ideation and I would no longer be suicidal.

So the choice here would be I end my pregnancy and continue living, or both myself and the unwanted pregnancy both die due to mental health reasons.

Seems like a clear cut "Save one because if you don't both will die" to me, yet I see pro lifers disagreeing with this regularly. Why is that?

Pro life argument without morality

Almost every pro life argument I see goes back to morals. As we all already know, morals are just feelings and opinions. Morals can and do vary from place to place, from person to person.

We understand already that pro lifers find abortion "morally wrong", in the same way some religions find being gay "morally wrong" or how vegans find eating meat "morally wrong."

Can pro lifers give a reason why abortion should be outlawed and people should be forced to gestate and birth against their will WITHOUT referring back to morals? I'm curious if there is a reason that pro lifers have that ISN'T about feelings or "moral worth" or "abortion is morally wrong" etc.

Forgot that we're not allowed to criticize parents in any way outside of this sub

There was a post in another sub I saw complaining about how parents use their children as an excuse to get out of work constantly and push their work responsibilities onto everyone else.

Almost all the comments were from parents going on about how this isn't actually a benefit to them because they'd RATHER be at work. Apparently being at work is better than the "chaos" and stress of being at home taking care of the children they chose to have.

I'm sorry, but I work for money. I'm not one of the lucky people that's job is their dream. I think the only way I'd rather be working than enjoying my life is if my "work" was getting massages and floating somewhere in a lake smoking blunts.

I can't be the only one that finds it absurd that we're supposed to idk, feel sorry for people that CHOSE to have children and now act like going home to care for and parent the children they voluntarily had is a punishment worse than being stuck at work.

I don't care if your home life sucks because you filled it with diapers and tantrums and messes and non stop bullshit Bradley, that's not my problem and I don't feel sorry for you.
