I’m stadium Public Announcer for the first time for a HS team tomorrow. Tips please!

Hey everyone. I’m doing the public announcing for the game tomorrow for a small high school. I have lots of stage and public speaking experience but no PA / Announcer experience.

I think I have the basics down but any tips or opinions on what should or should not happen from the stadium announcer? Especially those small things lesser thought of.

Would be greatly appreciated.

Survived my first full year of teaching!

Reporting here from the battlefield with success! I have finished teaching 7th grade at a big city in the southwest. I was lucky to get hired on mid year last school year as a credit retrieval teacher but my classes were only 7-15 big. I got thrown into the fire as a 7th grade Social Studies teacher with classes of 35-42 students large.

Wow! What a learning experience.

I should start by saying I am in my mid 30’s and this is my second career. I have a lot of life experience so I have a bit of an advantage on someone young fresh out of college and plenty of subbing experience.

I was fortunate in my school, fellow teachers and admin. They were very accommodative. Behavior was absolutely off the charts terrible but through lots of consistency and learning of my own it improved a lot throughout the year.

In the 2nd quarter I entirely eliminated Chromebooks in class because they were a giant pain in the ass and inhibit learning in my experience and opinion. All paper and pencil, reading, writing, thinking, videos, historical games etc.

I started the year as the chill cool teacher and evolved into the strict teacher that loves to smile with very rigid deadlines and expectations. I feel completely transformed, like a recruit going through boot camp.

I had good days and bad days but mostly good. Felt pretty over stimulated after most days but now I’m moving to high school.

At the end of the year so many students told me I was their favorite
Teacher and favorite class so I left feeling really amazing.

My hats off to you all. I already had a lot of respect for teachers but now it’s off the charts. Middle school teachers: I don’t know how you do this shit for longer than 5 years 😂

I’ve lurked here a long time. All of your insights and information has been very valuable. Thank you, and here’s to summer vacation.
