CURED MY NIGHT TIME WAKE UPS WITH PHOPHATIDYLSERINE
I am someone that has had the worst insomnia for YEARS. I’m diagnosed with ADHD and I take medication for it, and I’ve struggled a lot with staying asleep for more than a few hours. I’d wake up at 3-4 am and struggled to go back to bed. I did all the sleep hygiene bullshit; I kept my room at 68 degrees, played brown noise, no screen time before bed, no using bed for other activities, yada yada.
I tried magnesium glycinate and melatonin. Didn’t work. My psychiatrist prescribed me sleep pills (I forgot which ones) but they never worked for more than a week and I always felt awful using them. I figured I would just have to live the rest of my life like this.
Until I saw a comment linking the reason for night time wake ups to cortisol spikes and gave a recommendation to try phosphatidylserine supplements to lower cortisol.
So I got a good, independent tested brand (this is a whole another thing, but a LOT of supplements especially amazon ones are not as potent as advertised because they’re not FDA regulated) and took 300mg an hour before bed.
It took about a week of taking it, but it actually WORKED!! I WAS SLEEPING 7 HOURS STRAIGHT MOST DAYS!! And if I did wake up, I was able to fall asleep WITHIN 30 MINUTES. I’m literally euphoric writing this because I never thought I would be able to actually fall asleep consistently. Please, if you’re struggling with night time wake ups, give phosphatidylserine a try. It WILL NOT work for everyone and I’m not claiming it is. I know it has the opposite effect on some people, and if your sleep issues aren’t linked to cortisol, it probably won’t do much good.
But, please, if you do try this, GET AN INDEPENDENTLY TESTED BRAND because supplements can lie about the ingredients and potency and MANY DO!! IF ITS CHEAP ITS SUSPICIOUS. I use Dr’s Best Brand!

What is there to do during the summer? How can I make friends?
Are there any clubs that meet during the summer, events, etc. Anything on campus that’s fun to do or take advantage of? I transferred in the Spring and I’m still trying to find my way and build relationships here but it’s soo empty now
