Did I screw up

I filled out the application in January(1/6) but I don’t have an appointment date, I didn’t find a roommate because people ghosted me/didn’t even reply to me reaching out. And I don’t have a room selection appointment date or time. Am I just stressing because my friend in summer has one?

for the record I am entering fall 2026

TL/Dont Care: Are fall housing appointment dates out yet

AA degree acceptance?

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone who graduated HS with their AA got into University of Florida. For context, I’m in-state in Florida. I graduated with my AA, got a 1400 SAT, tutored on the side, and had multiple extracurriculars and leadership positions in clubs like FBLA.

I’m seeing that it feels like literally everyone got in except me. I know someone with a 1300 who got in for biochem, and they took APs like AP Stats, AP Bio, and AP Chem. I did dual enrollment instead and thought it would be viewed similarly since you get the same college credit. I took Calc 1, 2, and 3, along with Physics 1 with Calculus. I think I’m wrong. I kind of regret taking all dual now since now I’m going to UCF instead.

The thing that surprised me most is that I didn’t even get deferred, just a straight rejection. The same thing happened to one of my friends who also did dual enrollment with me. They had a 1420 and had leadership positions too. Rejected. So yea just wanted to know if anyone like me got accepted with their AA!

Finance major courseload

How easy/ realistic would it be to get all A’s if I took Financial accounting, micro, and business law next semester? Especially if I also want to have a social life: going out, football + tailgating, etc

Moving to Gainsville this fall, any advice?

Hello, I’m transferring to the university of Florida this fall and I’ll be moving to the area. I’m local to central Florida so the move won’t be too drastic but still different! I’m touring some apartments in a few weeks. So my question is to those of you who have gone through the whole apartment hunting process, do you have any advice? Specifically those of you without roommates (bonus points if you took a cat). Is there areas I should avoid completely? What are apartment must haves for gainsville? What should I expect? How was your experience? My questions are truly endless so anything is appreciated!

NEED HELP! Got a C on Stats in CC, transferring to UF via sf. do I retake?

As a senior in HS, I took DE Stats class online and ended up getting a C. Now, I am doing the transfer method from Santa Fe to UF for business management/marketing and was wondering, since Stats is a pre-req for business how bad would it look to retake it?? Or should I just leave it at a C and work hard to get all As on all my other classes?? I'm just worried because this stats class was dual enrollment so it already accumulates to my college GPA. Do you think they would still accept me as a transfer, what's your advice?

Transfer OOS ban?

I have been seeing a lot of mixed inputs on if the transfer is ban is still in place? Everything that I have read online only states that this was the case in February. I’m trying to gauge if anyone has any specific information about if that is still the case for Fall 2026?!

Summer parking restrictions

I can’t be the only one who thinks it’s absolutely stupid that UF keeps the same parking restrictions that they have in the Fall and Spring active in the Summer. Less students, a lot of these lots are significantly emptier than usual and they still wanna squeeze students pockets for parking passes? It’s a joke honestly.

Door opened by itself during Honorlock, should I be worried?

I did my Honorlock assignment in a hotel room since I’m traveling. There was a door leading to a secondary room during the quiz. I closed the door before starting, but when I turned around after finishing it was open.

There were zero people around, but I’m afraid someone might take it as another person being in the room.

Lease at Aero on 24th for 26-27 $655 monthly. I will also throw in the hats.

I'm going to be studying abroad next year and need someone to take over my spot at Aero on 24th for the 2026-27 academic year. Nothing wrong with the place, just won't be in Gainesville.

Room is a private bedroom with a private bathroom in a 4 bed 4 bath unit. You'd share the kitchen and common area with 3 other people, but rent is per person so you're only responsible for your own room. Lease runs August 2026 to late July 2027. Male only.

My rate is locked in at $665 a month, which is about $34 cheaper than what Aero is currently advertising for the same floorplan. Saves a little over $400 across the year compared to the current rate. Also the hats if you want that.

Comes with high speed internet, trash, in unit laundry, and a furnished bedroom. Building has a gym, clubhouse with TVs and games, and a study lounge. Location is solid, close to UF and walking distance to Butler Plaza (Target, Trader Joe's, food spots). RTS route nearby too.

If you're interested or know someone who might be, shoot me a message.

Fall Schedule???

Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone had thoughts on my fall schedule and whether it seems manageable. Here's a breakdown of everything:

  • CHM2046 + CHM2046L = General Chemistry 2 lecture and lab
  • BSC2011 + BSC2011L = Biology 2 lecture and lab
  • GRE1120 = Beginning Ancient Greek 1 (for the CLAS foreign language requirement, and it also counts toward my Classical Studies minor)
  • ENY2211 and PSY4940, which you all should be able to see

Technically, this puts me at 18 credits, but that's a little misleading because I selected 3 credits for PSY4940. It can be anywhere from 0–3 credits, and normally, there’s supposed to be additional work added for each credit because of a Psychology Department policy. However, I reached out to the professor I’ll be TAing for, and she said the workload for her course stays the same regardless of the number of credits selected.

For anyone curious, I’ll be TAing for CLP3144 (highly recommend to everyone! 🙂). Also, I have taken 18 credits before, and honestly, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected, so the number itself doesn’t scare me too much.

As for some context on the classes themselves, I’ve actually talked in person with Andrew Nichols, who usually teaches Ancient Greek at UF, and I also talked with Eleni Papadopoulou, who’ll be teaching Beginning Ancient Greek 1 this fall. She’s new to teaching Ancient Greek (I know she’s taught some of the Latin sequence and helped with Modern Greek before), but I’ve heard really great things about her and that she’s super kind and supportive. From talking with them, Ancient Greek actually seems like it’ll be a pretty chill course overall. Nichols will also be teaching Beginning Ancient Greek 2 in the spring, so that seems nice for continuity.

The professor for ENY2211, Cynthia Lord, will also be new to the course in the fall, so I’m not really sure what to expect there. But from what I’ve looked at, the course seems to align REALLY well with her research interests, so maybe that’ll work out in a good way.

I also feel like Bio 2 lecture and lab probably won’t be too bad. The content honestly seems pretty interesting to me, which I feel makes a big difference. Gen Chem 2 lecture and lab, though... I’m fully expecting that to be the class that destroys me a little, lol, but I guess I’ll just have to roll with it. 😭

So what do y’all think? Does this seem manageable, or am I setting myself up for a rough semester?

Anybody want to play tennis?

Hey, I just graduated from UF, but I am still in Gainesville. I am very bored, so I was wondering if anyone wanted to play casual tennis? I say "casual" because I am not very good lol. I just like hitting the ball around, and I am too intimidated to join a random group because everyone else seems so good.

If you are interested, then plz DM me! I would even play pickleball lol. I just don't have the equipment.

Family issue now NEED apartment Housing

I had some personal family issues and won't be able to live in campus this next semesters as I planned. Now I'm in need of a housing place.

I'd prefer for it to be near Campus, no more than 15/20 mins away walking.
I have no issues with roommates. Would like to have at least two less bathrooms than bedrooms. So, say 4 BedRooms, 2 Baths, but ig thats flexible.

I'm quiet, calm, not dirty at all and will take part in the apartment chores.

I'd rather it not be more than 800, but thats just a preference and I understand if its not realistic.

I'm a male, sophomore if that matters.

Thank you all and Please Let Me know!

HELP with UF transfer (Finance Fall 26')!

Hello! I did a lot of research into how transferring to UF worked for Finance and found out that my decision should have come out yesterday, May 20th. I applied for a BSBA, which had a different decision day than BABA, so I was fairly certain I should have gotten my decision yesterday, but I didn't get anything. I checked my email and application status portal ALL DAY, and nothing. All my official and unofficial transcripts were sent on time and checked. All my test credits and documents were received before the deadline. Is this normal, and do I need to wait longer than the May 20th date that the Warrington College posts on their website for transfers? Should I contact the office of admissions to see what's wrong or leave it as it is? I appreciate any help, thank you!

Hi everyone,

You are recommended to take part in the 'AI Use in College Learning Survey.' This study will help us learn more about the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in your college learning process and the role that these tools shape your academic experiences.

This research is being conducted with a professor in Ocean County College.

This survey is voluntary; if you decide to take part in this survey, you will be asked to answer eighteen (18) questions (17 multiple-choice questions and one short response question), which will take around 10-15 minutes to complete.

If you are not currently enrolled in any college or university, then you are not advised to take part in this survey. Nevertheless, you are encouraged to share this survey with an eligible respondent.

Before responding here are some important things to note before attempting the survey.

The questions included will be related to:

  • Your academic background (only includes your age group, academic level, and area of study)
  • Frequency of AI tools used and which tools you use
  • Uses of AI in your academic studies
  • Your opinions about the use of AI tools in learning and academic achievements
  • View about academic integrity and concerns related with the use of AI tools

  • You have the option to skip certain questions and leave the survey at any time you want, and there will be no consequences for you if you decide not to answer the questions.
  • You will not be entered into any draws for prizes. There is no financial incentive to complete this survey.

We appreciate your time and cooperation.

Regards,

Transfer Appeal

I had to appeal the decision the UF admissions team made for me. They denied me because I never provided my transcript by the deadline. I am trying to transfer from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and we ended 2 weeks later than UF. I was accepted a transfer appeal because due to the canvas shutdown a few weeks back, our transcript grades for the spring semster were pushed back, making me get my transcript on the material deadline. I submitted my appeal statement along with the reasoning from the Uw-Madison website stating why our grading deadline was pushed back.

But from that, I was just wondering how long this sort of transfer appeal might take for them to get back with me on a decision?! I am transferring into CLAS as a chemistry major with a 3.85 gpa. Any ideas how long it will take and if I have a real shot?!
