Reel-to-reel motors stopping a few seconds after use

Hi! I'm a new reel-to-reel owner but the motor on the machine stops working after being on for a few seconds. It is a norwegian Tandberg 3300x 2-track machine.

I think I have isolated the issue, being a motor relay that clicks off after being on. (It clicks on when the recorder itself is on, and off when the motors are told to spin). I have used contact cleaner, but it hasn't done anything. I am very unknowledgeable on electronics and repair, but would be happy to learn if necessary.

Is this something I could fix myself? Could it be a different part that is the issue? I am considering buying a multimeter, learning how it works and checking if I have to buy a replacement, but the part costs like 60-70 dollars and is all old-stock.

Thank you for any replies!

Edit: Thank you for your suggestions! I truly believe I am the world's biggest chump, because the moment I properly mounted the tape it worked. My machine is "fixed". Very embarrassed, but thank you all very much!
