I hate it almost as much as I hate memory paintings

Say he completed his mission and Jake is executed by the RDA according to plan. Then what??? He was no longer a human. Does he just… stay on Pandora, running SecOps? I mean, going back to earth doesn’t seem plausible. What would’ve been the end game with him?

I got out of sight and the goats and dog panicked and chased me. 😂 my little shadows!

Django and Pinky. Picked them up at the end of May this year. Django was pretty sick when I got him, but he’s finally made a turn and starting to put weight on and his coat is getting healthier. They’re both obnoxiously friendly and like to climb in my car when I get home. I think they’re Pygmies? I got them to be pets and weed eaters. They’re great at both.

Been pretty sick the last few days and drew a western scene. Don’t love it but don’t totally hate it either

Because Quaritch is a masterpiece and I couldn’t imagine the franchise without him!!!

The black feather earrings were my first attempt. I just used straight black clay, baked it, used acrylic paint for the blue lines, and sealed it with Triple Thick glaze. It came out really bubbly and rough textured after baking.

The red/black/white pieces were the same brand of clay, and I had no issues with those bubbling, but some of the pieces did warp. I decided to leave a few pieces unglazed because I really like the matte look, but I’m not sure if that will cause issues later?

I have no intentions on ever selling anything I make and this was a fun Tuesday night craft, but I still want to improve!!

The intention was minimalist, where someone who hadn’t seen the film would just think “oh that’s a neat shape / color combo!” and those who knew Varang would think “MY GURRRRLLLL”

Anyway I will be getting it strung up and ready to wear soon!

But after watching all the movies SO many times, I realize that Spider is the most genuine, loyal, top-notch character in all the films. Both Neytiri and Jake tried / threatened to kill him. And yet he just whips around like “I still love them!”

Jake is so cold about it too. That scene still bothers me every time I watch it. Like he doesn’t care how he treats him moments before he intends to kill him. And Spider never says anything about it to the Sully kids, never holds it against Jake— in fact, he continues to fight as hard as he can FOR Jake. There are times we think he may switch sides, I feel like several parts of the films foreshadow it, but he remains completely loyal to the Na’vi.

Also, when Neyitiri says “I See You” to Spider, it brings a tear to my eye every time.

Spider is the real MVP. I feel like his character is going to be even more important in the next films in ways we can’t even imagine.

I call it “Jaquima to Freno” (hackamore to brake) which is the progression of a traditionally trained “vaquero” style (or Californio style) horse, training from the hackamore stage to the spade bit stage, with the “two-rein” in between. I have shown horses in competitions in all 3 configurations, and there is nothing quite like showing a finished “bridle horse”. I encourage you to look up traditional vaquero bridle horses. They are a sight to behold!

I still have so much to learn and lots of practicing to do. I have focused primarily on proportions, using grids to keep things correct at first. I feel like I have that part down, but the contrast and hard lines still leave much to be desired. I have graphite and charcoal pencils, I just can’t ever seem to get past the “outlining”.

I have drawn for a long time and over the last few months I’ve started getting more serious about it. I want to be more realistic and soften things a bit more but have been struggling. I just bought a new set of mechanical pencils (0.3 is the smallest) to help with finer details… I would love any advice.

EDIT: the most recent drawing is the one of the man sitting with his leg over the saddle horn (5x7), the one of the 2 horses is second most recent (8.5x11) and the roper is the oldest.
