I decided to try making some cluster earrings!

I can’t tell if I like them or not but I am proud of how they turned out considering I have never put earrings like this together. Also had to put my own chain together by hand with jump rings, next time I will have better supplies to make the process much easier🙂‍↕️

I made 14 fungus-inspired party favors for a small dinner gathering

I recently made 14 of these Aspergillus fungus girl ornaments as party favors for a small dinner gathering I attended. I wanted them to all feel similar in style, so I started with a press mold and then modified each one individually by hand.

I baked them multiple times throughout the sculpting process. The lighter grey areas are Aves Apoxie Sculpt, while all of the green areas are polymer clay. They were finished using Gemini Heat Set paints.

I started with polymer clay a few days ago and like dragons a lot. Do you guys have any tips for me? Does this look cute/okay?

I struggled the most with attaching and blending the head to the body, I’ve been using Sculpey

Super upset about the bubbles in the eyes

I waited, used a flame to get the bubbles out and suddenly a LOT of bubbles appeared a few minutes after curing. How does a bubble appear after curing???? I am devastated right now because he is supposed to be part of my art show display in 2 days and I don’t have any more clay to redo him.

Beginner: Practical tips needed!

I’ve finally gotten all of my supplies to make polymer jewelry and now I’m just wondering about practical things before I start. Would really appreciate tips from all you veterans on here🙏🏼

  1. How do I store an opened Fimo pack? Do I just put it in a plastic bag? Does it have to be really air tight?

  2. I can’t burn the clay with metal eye screws already in it, right? Regardless if the hook/screw is steel or silver? How do you guys fasten the screws in the clay?

  3. I don’t have a glass table to work on. What could I use instead? Is a cutting mat OK?

  4. Is burning in a regular food oven OK? Should I cover the clay with aluminum foil to avoid having to clean the oven constantly? Does it have to be really covered or just let it lay over the goods?

  5. For UV resin: How do I avoid the resin filling my screw/hanger holes?

📥 Any other tips for my workflow is highly appreciated! This is my plan:
—>Make the clay object
—> Make holes in the object
—> Burn (regular oven)
—> UV resin
—> Fasten jump rings/hooks

Sculpted a lil froggy with a sprout hat

First time I’ve used clay in a while and I love how it came out!

I made a cat out of polymer clay

I sculpted this cat’s head and paws from polymer clay, the eyes are glass cabochons, and the body was sewn from faux fur. I slightly painted the nose and paws with pink acrylic paint.

Would a small toaster oven like the ones from Kmart bake polymer clay alright?

Has anyone tried any of the Kmart ovens specifically? I'm looking to get something on the cheap and small side because I don't have space and my kitchen oven is broken. I've read that small ovens like this aren't the best since they can burn the clay easily and the heating component is too close to the clay, but I've also seen a lot of people using toaster ovens fine, so I'm a little lost. I've read a lot of the posts on The Blue Bottle Tree and also watched YouTube videos for information and instructions, but I'm still quite unsure how to proceed.

If you have any personal experience with this, please do provide me with further details if possible. Tips and advice heavily appreciated too.

Adding new clay to baked clay..

So, I did a bake to save progress, and I'm not enjoying this as much anymore.

I spend a lot of time reworking the clay because I'm figuring out how it's supposed to look as I go. And I like building bits up, not necessarily adding 2 finished bits together if that makes sense.

I think I underestimated how much I'd be adding new clay to baked clay, and the process is horrible.

I'm scoring the baked clay, adding a bit of liquid clay, then a layer of fresh clay to build off. But it's long-winded, and I'm not convinced I'm going to get a strong bond when it's baked again.

Does anyone have any tips to make it easier or more enjoyable?

Humble beginnings - first model attempt

Hi all!

Recently I’ve been wanting some little figurines of our puppies to sit on my computer desk, so I decided to buy myself a little block of polymer clay and try my hand at making some myself!

After a few ‘false starts’ here’s where I’m currently up to with my humble little beginner’s attempt at creating a mini figurine of our bernedoodle puppy 😇

Truth be told, I’m a little stuck on how to sculpt the body, and I keep accidentally smudging details as I keep working on it 🤣 but the learning curves and stumbling blocks are all part of the fun of learning a new craft!

I made this Alolan vulpix figure!

It's based off of the Pokemon Time series :)

New fren I made. She asked to be beautiful but ended up with a face only a clay mother could love.

Also, don’t get too close, the warts are catching.

Do I insert eye pins/metal jewellery rings etc before baking?

Hi this is a silly question but I'm super new to polymer clay, and I wanna make charms and earrings. I've got some eyepins and hooks etc, just wondering if I insert them to the clay before baking? Like are they alright to go into the oven while baking the clay? I just use a regular home oven. Thanks!
