Orange necklace and bracelet for my food historian mom

I used polymer clay (mixed in translucent for the insides of the oranges), mica powder for the white membrane bits, varnish, and... our chinchillas' brush to texture the outside (thoroughly cleaned, of course!). I had never strung beads on wire before, so that was fun. Shoutout to pliers.

My mom loves food-themed jewelry for public events lectures, and TV appearances, so I had a high bar to clear in terms of quality. I'm pretty proud tbh!

Next, I wanted to try peaches. I want to capture the fuzz of the peach and the starburst around the pit, in particular. I also have a blueberry project on the docket. Will be more minimal and elegant. Any other ideas?

Bars for DARK chocolate lovers?

I am a big fan of Nugo dark salted pretzel. Definitely my favorite. I like Barebells a lot, but is there anything out there really dark and high-quality? Doesn't need to be super low-calorie or high protein. 15 grams wouls be good.

Foods to avoid?

Just for... fun, and hopefully help for some of us, are there any foods you have to steer clear of because they're too filling? Or just crush your appetite?

I made the mistake of filling up on popcorn yesterday. I LOVE popcorn, but I was so full from eating 2/3 of a bag of it that I could barely sleep. And it was less than 200 calories. I should have had pretzels.

Same with protein bars. They look small, and the Barebells sold cheaply at Trader Joe's taste great, but the sugar alcohols maybe? Make them way too filling.

Other foods I have to limit or I can't meet my calories--

Melon

Raspberries

Pickles

Too big of a chunk of perfectly ripe tomato onto my sandwich

I consciously cut my portions of these, which is sad, because melon is amazing this time of year, but if I ate half a melon, I wouldn't be able to eat my beef and rice, which I need for iron, calories etc.

Shorts for vertical types--doing it right?

I suspect I am a pure D. I've been trying really hard to get shoes and accessories right. I felt happy and confident in this HTT, and I got some head turns on the street (maybe just because the shorts are short!). I tried to do a shoe that is more geometric and D-friendly, and a necklace that accentuats vertical, along with SHORT shorts so that my legs can add the vertical element. I think the shirt is a little too open on top (the straps slide down my shoulders tbh, a problem I often have that makes me suspect D... I prefer racerback style) but it is comfortable and I like it... and I felt the necklace broke up the space a bit.

Any input is welcome <3 And would be super curious how vertical types here are styling shorts and what types of shorts you wear! Or, heck, how do you do shorts whatever your type?

Hakama pants HTT suggestions for a soft type?

My mom is almost surely a soft type (not sure if SD or SN or R). She wants to experiment with less body-conscious styles than usual; she basically lives in wrap dresses and even gowns (she is a public figure and does a lot of press events). She wants to wear these pants (first pic, next pics are of her for context) but isn't sure how to make a HTT look, especially as she worries about looking "bottom heavy"/has wider hips.

The looks I see are also generally very shapeless and she may benefit from waisy emphasis. But not sure. I am not a soft type so my intuitive ideas tend not to work for her. Tips? Anyone else wearing this style?

Cute idea my gym had for Pride Night

Light up tape on the walls, glow-in-the-dark temporary tattoos for members who wanted them! It looked incredibly cool... and it was also almost impossible to see which holds were which color, so I don't think I sent a single climb lol. Would do again/10.

Any ideas for how to make glow-in-the-dark climbing even better?

New dress for a suspected pure D. Tried to do better w shoes and jewelry. Did I succeed?

This dress is very "art deco," so I was inspired to get it by the moniker Kibbe uses for dramatics in the new book. I tried to go bolder than usual with a large necklace that is gepmetric and not too small or "precious." I felt comfortable in the HTT (for a theater outing to the first all-Black production of Cage aux Folles with Billy Porter and Wayne Brady--fabulous event). Did the outfit work? Does the dress suit me? Any bra-ish suggestions for under it haha I was worried or any other htt suggestions for the dress?

Best cheeseless (but not necessarily vegan/vegetarian!) pizza?

Yes, I searched. I am looking fot Manhattan specifically, ideally UES. Bonus for a whole wheat crust. Long story short, I can't have cheese or even fake vegan cheeses (I have a GI disease, not an allergy--I cannot tolerate the fat content). I would love a pizza without cheese but LOADED with veggies ans even chicken.

I know, I know. That is not pizza anymore.

But please, any suggestions for this abomination anyway?

Can someone explain the Chick-Fil-A spelling bee "yad more chicken" commercial?

"Yad more chicken" isn't a word. I don't understand what the commercial is saying. Is it a reference to a TV show with incompetent spellin bee judges? Please explain the joke to me. It can't just be "we made up a ridiculous fake word and that is funny, har har Americans are illiterate."

Do you start over if your foot touches the floor?

I always do, even if it's a climb I've sent before. Anyone else? This climb was really fun btw, it's my new overhang repeat. I want to try and do it 3 x in a row. Did 2 today.

13 pullups??!!

38/F. I got this (13 kinda ugly reps) after 2 hours of bouldering. I did not send my project 💔 (I missed ONE move at the top) sp frustration motivated me to better my 12-rep previous max. My goal is 15, and for them to be cleaner. I think if I come in fresh, it will go better. Tips welcome.

A bunny got into the carrot cake!

My girlfriend made the bunny; my only contribution was "hey, let's use chocolate for the eyes." She also thought of arranging the carrots in a wreath. I made a basic vegan cream cheese frosting (guests were dairy-free), almost ruined because Freshdirect deliveree garlic cream cheese and I had to run out at 9pm to get plain 😅

But we got rave reviews from the birthday girl (my mom), so... worth it!

I definitely think I hit vertical, though the dress could be longer; I did monocolor shoes/tights. I know the necklace is a little delicate for a dramatic, but I love it (I'd do different jewelry next time I wear this outfit, any tips?). Also, yeah, the straps were a bit too wide and were sliding down... problems that come with being literally narrow. But I think I did a pretty good job. I felt good.
