96th and Broadway to Columbus Circle - a walk with a food tour?

It was suggested online to consider this walk as something nice to do.

With that said, are there any fan-favourites to consider along the way?

My partner is looking for some good cannolis, and we'd love to find some great spots for a "restaurant-hop" (grab some different appetizers, slices, etc., from one place and amother).

Thanks for any and all help!

Din Tai Fung randomly closed during middle of service tonight?

I took family that was visiting to Din Tai Fung tonight (they’ve been wanting to go) and halfway through our meal everyone at the restaurant suddenly got told the kitchen was closed due to an emergency. Was a bit sad since we couldn’t get the chocolate dumplings but everything else was alright lol.

They weren’t rushing people out, but I’m just curious on if anyone knows more. I felt so bad for all of the workers who had to essentially kick a bunch of people out, especially a crowd of tourists and especially in poor weather. Especially after the Ambassadors Clubhouse fire last week, I just hope everyone is okay.

Jungsik (3 Michelin Stars) Dinner - July 2026 inTribeca

First time at Jungsik, a restaurant that's maintained its third Michelin star since earning it in 2024. We each also ordered the supplemental uni dish (+$75).

The beginning amuse-bouches were quite delicious, a mix of cold & hot bites. The server recommended to start with the bottom right first and go clockwise. I enjoyed the bites on the higher column more as they had more flavors. The two bowled ones felt more subtle and mild in comparison, but I guess that's why those are the recommended starting points.

My favorite courses were the Octopus and Galbi. Both were perfectly cooked and almost melt in your mouth tender.

Great visuals from the dessert courses, so cutely designed. Of the three, I liked the stone-looking statue the best as it contained a chocolate hazelnut filling, which I'm a sucker for as a flavor combo. The veggie garden, while also stunning in presentation was kind of meh when actually eating them.

Front of House mentioned the chef recently opened a second restaurant, Muje. Hoping to try sometime in the future.

Salt Hank’s is now owned by ghost kitchen company Wonder

Praying this is not the first domino of a larger trend of restaurants selling out to Wonder of all places 🤢

Cadbury Nut and Fruit bar alternatives in New York City

Does anyone know where to find Cadbury Nut Fruit bar. When I was a kid, relatives would bring them over from Europe. And for some reason, have been craving them lately.

Thank You.

Getting some Argentinian Chimichurri Sauce to go....................

I'd like to pick up a good quality jar of chimichurri. In the past I have gone out to Corona and just picked one up for $5 from restaurants but I am preferably looking for something in Manhattan a little closer to home. Any good markets or restaurants that sell it?

What’s the best Korean bbq in Manhattan for someone who loves the marinated meats at Gyu Kaku

My wife and I are huge fans of Gyu Kaku primarily because of the variety of meats and the tasty marinades used on each one. I’ve tried Korean bbq in other cities and found the meats bland and under seasoned (except for typically one meat like bulgogi.) Because of that, we’ve been hesitant to try kbbq in the city though I’ve been curious about places like Cote. What would you recommend for spots ideally in Manhattan that have a variety of seasoned or marinated meats (or is that just not a thing with kbbq?)

Which Manhattan restaurant would be best to meet a family member I haven’t met up with in decades?

A family member who I haven’t met up with in decades is coming to NYC soon and asked me to pick any restaurant to meet me. I‘d like it to be a warm and cozy restaurant within Manhattan ($50-$100pp) and with a low to medium noise level. That obviously rules out The Smith. My family usually likes Italian, Greek, Steakhouses, and Middle Eastern cuisines which would be safe choices. But I’m open to suggestions.

It’s one of the most important dinners of my life.

Lunch catering ideas for work meeting - 30-40 people

Hello! Would love recommendations for lunch delivery for a work meeting with 30+ attendees. Near Times Square / Bryant Park area.

Looking for more options outside the usual suspects of Dig Inn, Cava, etc.

Only requirements otherwise would be if they can accommodate with some gluten-free and vegetarian options.

And dessert recommendations are welcome too, those can be from a separate place!

Thank you!

How to get best cofermented coffee colombian beans in New York City?

Hello,

I am from India and I love colombian coferments like blueberry. I am visiting NYC for a work event and I want to pick them up and take them back. International delivery to India is very time taking and also customs generally have 200% markup and some roasters do not do international shipping to India.

I am a big fan of specialty coffee and I love colombian coferments. I have tried Rodrigo Sanchez's blueberry cofermented beans and I couldn't get over it.

Any leads will help. Thanks!

Fuzhou Fried Oyster Fritter / Cake for $3 from Old Yang’s Oyster Cake in Flushing

Couldn’t find a Google Maps link, but they’re across from White Bear (Google Maps link). This also looks to be their Fan Tuan page. Have seen them called Old Yang or Lao Yang’s Oyster Cake.

Oyster cakes are a popular Fuzhou street food snack. This was delicious. Fried fresh and very crispy, it’s filled with cabbage, seaweed, dried shrimp, carrots, Chinese chives, pork, oysters, and peanuts. There was actually a decent amount of oysters.

I continue to be impressed by the regional food that can be found in NYC.

Edit: good tip from houj530 in the comments -

>He’s not consistently there and sometimes by boa on maple, would recommend calling ahead 3474480007. thats the number found on the side of his cart

What are your favorite holes in the wall/ adventurous/ international food places these days? :)

Hi everyone,

I'm an expat from the NYC area returning home with my Danish husband and I would love to experience the best of what NYC has to offer-- little adventurous spots where we can eat food from around the world. I haven't been in the city in years so I don't know what's good any more! Tell me what your fave spot is!

Would love any recommendations ❤️ especially any Asian food we don't really get any good asian from literally any Asian country here in Denmark 😂

Thanks in advance!

24-Hour Pancakes - Requesting Diner in East Village area

I lost fantasy football and have to do 24 hours in a diner and every pancake I eat takes an hour off the time. I’m looking for best options to do this around the East Village area.

There is always the ihop nearby but was hoping I could find a recommendation for a relatively affordable local diner with pancakes that aren’t massive/heavy. Any recommendations are appreciated!
