What are your favorite holes in the wall/ adventurous/ international food places these days? :)

Hi everyone,

I'm an expat from the NYC area returning home with my Danish husband and I would love to experience the best of what NYC has to offer-- little adventurous spots where we can eat food from around the world. I haven't been in the city in years so I don't know what's good any more! Tell me what your fave spot is!

Would love any recommendations ❤️ especially any Asian food we don't really get any good asian from literally any Asian country here in Denmark 😂

Thanks in advance!

Traveling with a 9 month old? Maybe SE Asia?

Hi everyone,

My husband and I have overlapping leave in January with our 9 month old. We're hoping to do an ambitious trip while we have the time-- about a month-- to do so. He's never been to SE Asia, and I've loved being there the few times I've been, so we're thinking to go there, but unsure. Is it too ambitious with a baby that age?

Those of you who have traveled with a baby around the same age, what have you enjoyed? What do you advise against?

Travel ideas with a 9 month old baby in January?

Thinking of doing our first trip to southeast Asia with our little baby. Hoping to go to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand but unsure if that's too ambitious with a baby(?) I welcome any tips and guidance from you all!

H&P Lark, ring sling, or Meh Dai for traveling with huge + heavy 5 month old?

Hey everyone,

I've been influenced by this sub to look into maybe a Lark or a Meh Dai, possibly a ring sling, for traveling with my big ass baby. I am new to baby wearing but love it! And would love all three carriers but wondering if they're all great? Or if any meh dai will do, or if the h&p lark is easiest for beginners, or what.

If you were about to do some sweaty traveling with a baby, what would you choose? What do you like the best? Finally, what's a fair used price for the h+p lark?

Questions for Aer 2 + Butterfly 2 owners!

Hi all, went in to see both the Aer 2 and Butterfly 2 today. We're in Europe so both have full recline. My standing questions are:

- How annoying is the Aer 2 zipper/ latch thingy for those of you with the Aer 2? Do you wish it was the pull strap system other strollers like this have?

-How much does parent facing option in nest to seat matter for babies over 5 months or so?

-How does Aer+ differ from Aer 2 in Europe if both have technically had lay flat available?

- How much should I weigh the availability of a bassinet? We've loved using ours on our giant stroller-- will we value the chance to have it on a travel stroller for a future baby?

Any other advice on how to make this decision welcome!

Favorite European brands?

Hi everyone I'm in Europe and looking for a ring sling and other baby carriers. Wondering what brands and materials to look for, especially for the ring sling because my baby is a HEAVY girl at 5 months!

Thanks in advance for the help!

American going to med school in Denmark. What do I have to do to one day have a residency/ practice in the US?

Hi everyone,

I'm finding a lot of conflicting info in comment threads here on reddit. I'm an American married to a Dane. I'm 36 and just started med school here in Denmark. I applied and didn't really expect to get in, so I didn't think about a long term plan 😂

Now I'm in med school and the timeline is so daunting. I just had a baby and I feel hopelessly homesick. My dream scenario would be to finish school here and do my residency in the USA, so that I can be close to family. However, as I'm reading different posts, this does not seem straightforward or easy at all.

Now I'm wondering if I should give up my dream of med school, and do a shorter degree, nursing for example, and figure out a way to use that degree in the USA instead.

What do I need to do to use my Danish degree in the USA? ❤️

Thanks in advance for your help :)

Absolute best way to prevent precocious puberty?

I just had a baby daughter and all I can think about is keeping her safe from flame retardants and PFAs and other environmental factors that impact hormone function. Is there any consensus about best things to do to prevent early puberty? This is my biggest fear, we know puberty is getting earlier and earlier, and I really want to help in any way to let her body stay a little kid for as long as it needs!

Hi guys, the aircon in my new (used) 2017 Fabia Combi randomly turns off and on when its set to "on" position, and the rear windows can be controlled succesfully by driver, but the switches in the back only work half the time pulling the windows up, and never work pushing them down.

Anyone have any leads as to what's going on, if this is an expensive fix, + if it's something I can do myself (I'm somewhat handy?)

Thanks!

Hi guys,

We're stuck on naming our baby girl. We live in Denmark, but she's Danish and American. She's 2 months old and so far her personality seems more on the side of spunky, curious, opinionated, outgoing, silly. Please give me your suggestions if you have any, but so far the at the top of our list we are considering:

Solvej (sol-vai) an old nordic name-- this was one of our first favorites. Is it too hard for Americans? Lucia/ nickname LuLu (there's a holiday here called Lucia's day which could be fun for her, but is it too feminine?), Lola, Anne/ Annie after my partner's very sweet mom Anne Marie who died a few years ago.

Also love but are lower in the ranking--

Luna (she was born on the Lunar eclipse!)

Selma

Stella

Josephine/Johanne, JoJo nickname

Georgia, called Georgie

Freya

Astrid

Penelope called Nell?

I love Charlie for a girl but I feel like it's too overplayed and Charlotte is really stuck up here in Denmark

Danish names I wish I could use but are too weird pronunciation wise--

Gry

Sif

Liv

Røskva

Hi everyone, we just started our family and have never been car owners before so we're a little unsure of our space needs. We have a small black lab, a baby, two parents and occasionally a father in law in a car for a road trip. We're considering a 2017 Skoda Fabia tsi 1,2 with 180k kms and a 2011 Roomster tsi 1,2 DSG with 220k kms.

I can't tell which boot layout is better for us with the back seats up. We'll reliably have a 25kg petite labrador back there, and a carseat in one of the back seats.

Are there big safety differences in the two cars? Reliability and repairs differences between the two cars? What about space/ storage differences? I can't find any videos online explaining the back seat system of the Roomster but it seems amazing, so it is tempting.

Any advice would be very helpful!
