Enyaq MY27 Upgrades: I was upgraded for free + more technical info

So, I ordered my Enyaq RS Coupe middle of February. Delivery was expected between July and September, with production happening somewhere middle of June. When I read the news about the technical upgrades with MY27, I called my dealership and made clear, that I wanted a MY27 vehicle obviously - which I was not getting with my initial production date. But my sales guy promised to have a look into the case. Yesterday, he had me sign a form that states, that I will be upgraded to MY27 and that I accept the technical differences - which are mainly down to the battery. The upgrade will be done without adjusting the price. I also received a one pager showing all the differences between the MY26 and MY27. It is in German, but you will manage 😉

Once useful feature, now they ruined it: the adaptive cruise control

Disclaimer: I chose question/help flair since I guess these are not technical but "intended" issues.

I'm in the EU (Hungary), and I have a 2025 Skoda Superb as a company car. I chose the model and configured it myself. First of all, I love it, but there are 2+1 features which drive me crazy.

  1. This was already mentioned here, I found a post about it. The speed warning which turns back on every time the engine is started. Since (unfortunately) if you strictly obey the speed limits in Hungary, you got shot on site by the other drivers ( /s ), I have to turn this off every time I sit in the car. I would have no problems if the warning would be only visible but not audible, but since it also turns back on, it became a habit to turn it off in the first minute. However, I would love my country turn into one where obeying the speed limit is not an exception but vice versa, like not too far away, in Austria.
  2. This is a bigger concern. The adaptive cruise control, or adaptive tempomat. I drove a few new cars in the past and I see this function to deteriorate over time, I guess because of the stricter EU regulations. I found it useful that the function took the curves into consideration, the 2021 Volvo V60 was able to do that. A two years old Cupra performs similarly, it's working predictable. But this Skoda took this to another level. It also takes the allegedly read signs and (as per my observations) its own (sometimes outdated) map into account. Normally I would consider this as a plus if this worked properly, but it doesn't. Sometimes it hallucinates a 80 sign on the highway where there isn't any, and you are allowed to travel with 130 km/h without issues. Sometimes it reads signs wrong, for example when there is an exit on the highway with a 60 sign, but you are following the highway. Or sometimes it happens the opposite way: you go on a bad quality road with 50 instead of 90 on purpose (because you are not capable or it's not safe to travel faster), then comes an intersection, and the ACC overwrites your set 50 speed and starts intensively accelerating to 90. No, please don't do that!
  3. Small aspect. The front lights are LED. The back lights are LED. If DRL is on (day running light), why the heck aren't the back lights on? The previously mentioned Volvo knew this feature and they still do, I see it on the roads. Is it something which is configurable somehow, or the only thing I can do is to set the "lights on" feature as early as possible? I drive for more than 25 years and my first habit to do after fastening the seatbelt is to turn on the lights, so this annoys me. I (sorry, the company) paid for those lights, so I want to use those lights! I suppose this should be an option somewhere, since there are some countries where it is mandatory the have back lights together with the front DRL.

Long story short, these are features which supposed to provide extra layers of safety into driving, especially on long trips where the more things you have to pay attention to, the faster fatigue can build. But if I can't use ACC, it adds one more thing I have to pay attention to. If I use this kind of ACC, I both have to pay attention to feature errors and also intervene every time it happens, and also now I have anxiety fearing what unexpected sh*t comes next and when. I have no issues with cars where this feature is unavailable since it's unavailable, so I cannot expect that something faulty happens if it's simply not there. (For example, I have an 1992 Opel Calibra in mint condition - if I set the "stupid" cruise control, I know that it won't pay attention to obstacles, landscape and other cars, so if I don't brake when I should, I will hit something since there's no radar.)

Since this is a company car, shady stuff doesn't apply here. What can I do? I guess nothing. I was thinking to go to the Skoda service and dealership and tell them the above, and also try to convince them that this is NOT SAFE. I also hope that No. 3 above is also configurable in a service menu or so.

I don't want to finish this post with rants. I love the car. I chose it in carmine red color, it also looks spectacular. But I want to love it even more! :)

1.0 MPI good or bad

Hello!

I want to change my current car - Dacia Logan 1.4 MPI 2008.

Skoda Fabia 1.0 MPI after 2015 should be a good choice for me

I want a car that, like my current car, has cheap mantanace cost.

I don t mind the lack of power, I drive only in the city.

Also I like the fact that Skoda Fabia has low fuel consumption.

The single issue is that the mechanics or car entuziasts that I ask about this car, are absolutely not recommending it.

They say the low power sau that it is in 3 cilinders it is an issue and can break quickly.

What do you think?

Do you have a high mileage 3 cilinder car or a 1.0 MPI with high mileage?

Waiting for the Slavia/Virtus 1.5L Facelift — Should I Wait?

Been waiting for the Slavia/Virtus 1.5L facelift since January now. To get a feel for what changes are coming, I took the Kushaq facelift for a test drive recently — and honestly found 3 main updates:

1.	All four disc brakes, not just the front ones

2.	Front parking sensors — actually makes sense given how long the car is

3.	Panoramic sunroof — really opens up the cabin, especially from the rear seat, makes it feel more airy.

That’s pretty much it in terms of meaningful changes. I already love how the current one looks, so that’s not really a factor for me.

Where I’m stuck is — if I buy the current one now and the facelift drops shortly after, there’s just that feeling of why didn’t I wait. (Very dumb I know, but that’s how the brain works)

So a few questions if anyone can help:

1.	Are these 3 updates major enough to actually wait for the facelift?

2.	Does the AC issue carry over to the 1.5L as well, or is it mostly a 1.0L thing?

3.	Any idea on when the facelift might actually be announced?

Would love to hear from anyone who has more info or is going through the same dilemma!

2002 Skoda Octavia MK1 1.9 TDI ALH 66kW – Weak boost when cold, delayed boost when warm

Hi everyone,
I have a 2002 Skoda Octavia MK1 with the 1.9 TDI ALH engine (66 kW). Recently I replaced all the old cracked rubber vacuum hoses with silicone ones because they were brittle and one already had a hole. I replaced them one by one very carefully, no lines were mixed up.
Background: The reason I changed them is that the car previously went into limp mode due to the broken hoses. My dad temporarily put back one critical line (I think the Y-splitter that goes to the N239 ASV or the check valve) and the car pulled extremely strong again.
A while ago I also noticed the car started acting weird after a pull

(Turbo is very fresh only one year old, and ive been taking care or the car, almost always driving 55km not short distances)

Current problems:

  1. Boost issue
    • Cold engine: Almost no boost at all until ~2100 RPM. On OBD I see only -0.07 to -0.03 bar.
    • As the engine warms up, boost gets better but still delayed.
    • When fully warm:
    • Light throttle → some base boost from ~1600 RPM
    • Floored → real boost only comes after ~2400 RPM
    • After 3000 RPM it finally reaches 1.00 – 1.15 bar
    • Vacuum reading: around -0.99 inHg

  2. Jerking / shaking I also replaced the lower dogbone engine mount because it was worn and loose. The car felt great for the first 2 days after the mount change.
Since the vacuum hoses were replaced (about 1 week ago), the car now when i turn it off it shuts off roughly

What we already checked:
• Removed the intercooler pipe on the EGR → inside was golden with minimal gunk, slight smoke came out, and it was dripping a tiny bit of oil.
• Unplugged MAF → almost no difference in behaviour.
• Cleaned the MAF sensor with petrol → no real improvement.
• Tested the ASV (N239) → it sucks in about 1 cm when I turn odf the engine, and AI said it should stay like that for a good 3seconds it just stays like that for 1maybe nit even that much

For now i will be cleaning the EGR with cleaner eith my dad and the intercooler, dad said maybe it collected some oil too

What should i check out? or anyone has an idead whats happening

Skoda Karoq

Last night I placed an order on a new Skoda Karoq 1.5 TSI manual and I’m really looking forward to having it,

One thing that I’m unsure about is having the auto hold feature?
As it already had an electric parking brake, what would be the point in having an auto hold button next to it?
I’ve used an electric handbrake before and found it works well but surely the electric handbrake is all you need, or am I missing something here?

Škoda Motorsport

After seeing a BMW M3 GT3 Touring, I'm thinking Škoda should also send an Octavia NX vRS Combi to the Nürburgring 24h with their Motorsport Heritage. What do you guys think?

2019 Octavia Combi 1.6 TDI Ambition

Hello Škodis, I bought this one recently, it is my first car. It has 60,000 miles. I will use it mostly for leisure with my family.

I do not understand anything about cars, so I was a bit nervous because ChatGPT was against it and recommended rather a Toyota for lower maintenance cost..

But my gut decided it will be this car!

Happy to get any advice on how to enjoy it and avoid trouble in the future!

😛🤘😘

Never thought i'd visit a workshop for this 😂

Washer fluid tank hose cracked.

Octavia vrs 4.5, 17.000km...

Saw it leaking on the parking lot after filling up.

Is this common? 😁

The efficiency of the modern 1.5 TSI EA211 Evo2 is quite impressive.

2026 Skoda Scala 1.5 TSI manual.

That's 67.3 UK MPG for people who like stupid units of measurement.

Getting this kind of economy without having to listen to diesel tractor sounds is so nice!

Skoda Kamiq vs Skoda Karoq

Help me decide which car is the best option,

I can buy a new Škoda Kamiq in SE L trim with a 1.5 TSI engine , including a spare wheel for £25,000.

The Karoq is available in a SE trim 1.5 TSI , no spare wheel for £25,550

Both cars are 6 speed manual,
I appreciate the Karoq has a bigger boot but in terms of quality, driving experience and value for money,
which car would be the better choice and why?

First service 30k? How legit is it?

I've purchased Škoda Karoq recently and I've took subscription for service along with the car. First service is "recommended" after 30k kms - my question is do I wait for 30k or I can do my first service within 12/15k. I'm quite sure if I do it within 15k I'll have to pay for the service extra because I'm doing it earlier then "expected" even If I'm paying for service every single month.

When did you done your first service?

Loud noise while parking

Hello,

since 6-7 months while parking in reverse my Superb 4 (still under warranty) is making loud noise (like on the 5 second on the attached video), it is not constant and not all the time. But since the first time that I heard the noise till now the noise is getting louder and more constant than before.

From the local dealership/service I was told first that the brake pads are like new, there are no issues related to brakes at all. Second time that one of the MacPherson had issues but it is fixed with some spray (maybe wd40 do not know) and did not provide no additional information. Today I was told that this ia normal and it is from the rear break pads and they cannot do nothing or change anything without me paying for the repare (the manufacturer will not approve a change of pads).

Has anyone had same issues and is it from the pads or I should go and check the car in a better service.
