What’s your favorite MK matcha?

I was following this sub for weeks and saw so many raving about the MK Wakatake that I bought a 100 g bag to try, I did like it a lot! I feel like it is a beginner matcha, pretty mild but not astringent or too grassy, it’s very balanced and still holds up with milk. I tried it today with guava jam and sparkling water and I taste it even more! I love it better the second way. Can someone recommend one from MK that shines a little more with milk? I usually drink iced lattes. I heard great things about the Isuzu also! Thanks so much for the recommendation! Can’t wait to hear what else you all enjoy from this brand.

Hosting a Friends and Family matcha pop up event

I’m a lover of matcha and am planning on hosting an event for my family and friends to share my love of matcha with them. I’ll have a whole menu and everything (I’ll even be offering non matcha options like houjicha and sparkling tea lemonades. My sister loves to bake and she would likely provide some desserts/snacks on the side. What are some good pairings with matcha? I’ll be serving hukuju and suiteki matcha from Kettl. I attached the descriptions for both - first is suiteki and second is hukuju. What would be some good snack ideas to serve on the side sweet and/or savory? I was thinking something simple like black sesame cookies ? But would like some other ideas. Thank you!!

Has anyone been to Prung Thai restaurant? Since it blew up on SM?

I saw the owner’s story on ny Turk’s account. Basically it’s a local Thai restaurant and she is struggling. After eating there and giving rave reviews thousands of people flood the restaurants google page and order from all over the country. Is it right though? Some of the reviews are fake meaning many of those leaving 5 stars did not actually eat there but are just leaving reviews because he said it was good..and of course her story of being a struggling single mom in nyc with an empty restaurant. Times are really tough there are so many other Thai restaurants around that area. Does anyone here have any opinions or thoughts on what happened? I am happy she got the exposure and business. But not sure about the fake reviews and things like that.

Where to eat after a Beach day?

Going to Robert Moses this weekend and wanted to grab a bite afterwards with a small group of friends. We’ll probably be sandy and tired so nothing too fancy. But we want nice vibes and yummy food. Any recommendations? Bonus if it’s going back towards NYC/Queens.
TIA!

My nephew is going to start school in September. He is moving to NYC and he used to travel with his mom (my SIL) to China every 6 months. She would bring back toys, towels, baby accessories , toothbrushes etc etc. according to my brother she feels the quality for those household items are better in China. She never shops for anything here. So I’m struggling for a gift. He doesn’t need more toys and I don’t want to get him clothing since she probably will prefer the Chinese brands. I’m thinking something for school? Book bag, crayons pencils ? He loves pigs 🐷 and he isn’t very into athletic stuff.

Thanks in advance !!!

I am looking to buy bulk gifts for a group of food service managers that I supervise (a total of 20). We work for NYC so there’s a threshold of about $5 per person. I can’t go over that or else it’ll look like “bribery” or “quid pro quo” - not exaggerating lol. I have them little bags of specialty candy last year and a pen - but that’s very generic. They work so hard all school year and I would love to give them something special meaningful but cannot be more than $5 per person. Please help! Thank you !!
