Do your nParents cut you off mid-sentence to completely misconstrue and spin what you’re actually trying to say?

I was in the car with my nMom, nDad, nSister and some family friends years ago. While I was trying to explain to them about free will and boundaries by telling them that “I can do whatever I want as long as I don’t cross anyone’s boundaries or hurt anyone.”, my nMom quickly cut me off mid-sentence after the word ”want“ to make it sound like I was just saying, “I can do whatever I want.” Even I said, “no, wait! I didn’t finish.“, she angrily snapped, ”Shut up!” without letting me finish the sentence. I felt so helpless, hurt and dehumanized.
