traffic safety issue- Frederick St. at Broadway

I need to vent about this intersection. Frederick St. at Broadway.

For some reason, (and I've lived in neighborhood for a long time and seen it this way, but getting way worse) when drivers are headed eastbound on Broadway and they come to Frederick St., they seem to roll the stop sign and/or cut their turn when proceeding. The distance in the intersection is a bit shorter in that direction, so maybe that is what is causing the problem, I'm not sure. I've had numerous encounters where I come to a complete stop heading either north or south on Frederick and the driver turning from Broadway doesn't wait their turn. Just in the last week I have been almost hit by two separate older women in this exact scenario. When I stoped short in front of them and honked they were acting mad at me!
**If you are heading east on Broadway and you stop at this interesection, you don't have some magic right-of-way just because the intersection is shorter distance in that direction.** you have to wait your turn just like everyone else at any normal three or four way stop sign interesection.

In addition to what I described, this interesection is crazy for bikers not stopping as they cross into the Arana Gulch bike path. Granted, many bikers do stop, but I've had a ton of near misses when I come to a complete stop in my car, and then start to proceed but have to slam on the brakes for a biker zooming through.

Please be careful out there and do all of us a favor and come to a complete stop, wait your turn to cross, whether in a car or on a bike. thank you.

Hi all, I have a new Solano Jacket for sale. I thought I'd give someone a chance at a deal before I return this to REI. I bought it from REI and decided I am not going to keep it. The total price was 289.73 plus tax (you can see this sale price on REI right now). I had $50 or so of REI rewards points so i only paid about $250 out of pocket. I'll let someone have it for $250 plus $10 for shipping. If no one wants it in a few days I'll just return it. The only reason I'm not keeping it is that personally for me, I feel like I'd be worried about getting the jacket stained or dirty all the time with the white color, I just can't do it. Awesome jacket though.

Hi,

I have a 7 year old German Shepherd mix dog. He has a small lump on his shoulder, maybe the size of a pea. He had his annual exam a day or two ago and our vet at a local clinic did a biopsy. He called me later on after examining the cells under a microscope and said that he is concerned that it may be cancer. he recommended that the lump be removed and is confident that due to the size, location and near to the surface nature of the lump that he could remove it all successfully.

I of course want to do what is best for my dog and I'm prepared to pay, but the quote we received seemed very high. They want to do teeth cleaning while he is under general anesthesia, which is ok, but the total quote for all the work is (low $3600) and (high $4500). It seems like a LOT. I don't know how to know if this is normal or if I should be "shopping around".

Does anyone have experience with this and can recommend a local vet that can do this procedure successfully and for less money? Again, I will do what is necessary for my dog but I wanted to see what people's thoughts are on this. I don't want to name our vet clinic as I'm not trying to hurt their business, just trying to see what else may be available.

thanks

Arc'teryx Solano Jacket BNWT Size M Solitude

I have a brand new Solano Jacket men's medium, color Solitude for sale. I bought it from REI recently on sale. It is listed on sale now at $289.73 plus tax. I'll sell it for $280 including shipping if anyone wants it. I can still return it but I thought if anyone wants it I'm willing to sell it here. Although it is a beautiful jacket, I'm concerned for me about the color and getting it stained or dirty. i'll post actual photos later today.
