Bought a 2013 500 Abarth 3 months ago. Dealership (Audi) is struggling with a recurring misfire/hose issue
Hey everyone,
Bought a 2013 Fiat 500 Abarth 3 months ago (used daily for work). I’m currently stuck in a loop of breakdowns at a non-Fiat dealership (Audi), and I need your expertise.
The Issue:
A vacuum hose keeps popping loose because the mounting tabs are worn out. Part # is 4627485AC (Brake Booster Vacuum Hose). It is currently on national backorder with No ETA. Their temporary O-ring fix keeps failing.
Yesterday, the hose popped off again. The CEL started flashing, the car ran horribly, and dense white smoke (smelling like unburnt gas) came out of the exhaust.
Now, the dealership says it's a separate issue and diagnosed a misfire on Cylinder #2 due to a bad ignition coil.
My Questions:
Are these connected? Can a massive vacuum leak from that hose popping off trigger a severe lean condition or wreck the ignition coil?
Part # 4627485AC: Has anyone dealt with this backordered hose? Is there a known aftermarket alternative or a reliable DIY fix I can suggest to the shop? I can't wait months for an OEM part.
Is the dealer missing something? Could excessive pressure be blowing the hose off, or is it just a coincidental bad coil?
My 30-day warranty expires this week (they are covering this since it was pre-existing), but I want to make sure they actually fix the root cause.
Thanks for the help!
