2-week Sardinia itinerary + proposal ideas? Looking for hidden spots, hikes and beautiful beaches
Hi everyone,
My girlfriend and I will be visiting Sardinia from September 24th to October 8th, and I would love to get some local advice and recommendations.
Current itinerary:
• Sep 24 - Sep 26: Olbia
• Sep 26 - Sep 30: Orosei
• Sep 30 - Oct 3: Villasimius area
• Oct 3 - Oct 7: Alghero area
• Oct 7 - Oct 8: Somewhere closer to Olbia before an early flight
What we enjoy:
- Beautiful beaches
- Easy to moderate hikes with great views
- Exploring hidden coves
- Renting a small boat for a day and discovering the coastline
- Good local food and authentic places
One very important thing:
I'm planning to propose during this trip.
I'm trying to find a really special location. Ideally:
- Stunning scenery
- Some privacy
- Maybe reached by a short hike
- Turquoise water and a beautiful beach
- A place that feels unique and memorable
I've seen photos of Cala Luna (especially the cave looking out onto the beach), which looks incredible. However, I'm worried it might still be busy even in late September.
Some places already on my radar:
- Cala Luna
- Cala Goloritzé
- Cala Mariolu
- Cala dei Gabbiani
- Punta Molentis
- Capo Caccia
For people who know Sardinia well:
Where would YOU choose to propose?
Are there any lesser-known beaches, viewpoints, or hikes that might be even better?
Would you recommend doing it from a rented boat in a secluded cove instead?
Is there a place with a spectacular view but a realistic chance of having some privacy in late September / early October?
Any tips, hidden gems, or proposal stories from Sardinia would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
