Just Watched Alpha – Here’s My Honest Review

I just watched Alpha, and honestly, it was a really good watch. The first half was so engaging that the interval arrived before I even realized it. The second half was decent too maybe not as strong as the first, but still enjoyable. I have no complaints about the VFX, they were well done. Yes, a few gunfight scenes felt a bit over-the-top, but overall, I found the film far more entertaining than Tiger 3, Pathaan, and War 2. What I don’t understand is why it’s being slammed by so-called critics. Even Taran Adarsh, who rated cringe War 2 more generously, seems much harsher on Alpha. Sometimes it really feels like audience opinions and critic reviews are worlds apart.

Title: Cricket is extremely overrated in Nepal – 12 years of being hyped, no growth whatsoever, and wasting our sporting abilities on it and neglecting football. Enough of this foolishness

It is time that Nepal should wake up from its delusions about cricket. We’ve invested a lot of time, effort, resources into it for more than a decade already, and what have we gained so far? No ODI World Cup appearance at all, no matter how many times we tried to qualify for it. We qualified for the T20 World Cup three times (in 2014, 2024, and 2026), and in each case, we lost most of the games and went back without even a chance. Our first win in over a dozen years was against Scotland in 2026.
As for the ODI results: we played 89 games, winning only 44 of them and losing 42. Our ranking in ODI is 17th, which can hardly be considered any kind of growth because it means playing draws with other associate.
Without Test status, there is no true route to the big league. Record in qualifying tournaments: best position is eighth place. Nothing new.
Fitness and performance problems are obvious. The team members do not seem to be ready for international play – poor fielding skills, fitness issues, injuries revealed in research studies (frequent injuries among professional players).
Same pattern of overrated expectations, early elimination, and excuses. The national system is not solid enough, the player base is small, and the game depends very much on a couple of players.
Football, on the other hand, has been a traditional favorite in Nepal, although it was replaced by cricket under Indian media influence and some T20 success stories. However, the FIFA rankings for the sport place Nepal at around 177th position - definitely not good enough but immense natural talent exists there due to its unique geography. The Nepalese boast of individuals from the freezing Himalayan areas with extreme endurance, lung power, and "survival instinct" in harsh environments. In addition, Terai areas with heat resistance, speed, and agility. This diverse combination within one squad could be the basis of great footballers.
Football has history here: stronger in regional terms in the past, success with SAFF, and a strong fanbase. The infrastructure is poor for both sports, but cricket gets all the fancy money, and football is left to die. We have seen some good talent coming through the mountains to the plains – street football in all of the country, children with natural fitness that cricket doesn’t have.
The facts speak for themselves: Cricket development was hyped up but has stagnated. There is no ODI World Cup for us, poor conversions in major competitions, and we lack fitness. In 10 years, where would we be with such a trajectory? Nothing but quarter-final exits in qualifiers every time, always hoping for “next year.” We are a small country, and to put all our eggs in one overhyped basket is foolish when football makes use of our human capital in such an extreme environment.
Time to change course: invest in football academies in various regions; construct a proper league structure; scout the Himalayas and Terai well. Let cricket be a form of entertainment if it must, but stop the pretense that it will help us achieve greatness in the sport. It hasn’t worked, and the statistics and history show this. Who agrees with me, guys? New Cricket lovers, please refer to the data..

Why is there so much hate for Alpha? Every movie can’t be Dhurandhar

If you’ve seen Raazi, Alia played a spy perfectly—without relying on over-the-top action sequences. In fact, her performance felt more realistic than many of the scenes shown in Dhurandhar 2.

So what’s the issue?

I’m not a PR person, not an Alia fan, and not a Dhurandhar hater. I’m simply sharing my honest opinion as a movie lover.

How Scary Is Obsession? Is There Much Gore?

Actually, I’m planning to watch this movie with my wife, as I usually don’t prefer watching movies alone in the theatre, especially after getting married and now that I’m over 30. My wife usually can’t stand gore and bloody scenes, but she can watch horror and supernatural elements. So, if anyone has watched this movie in the theatre, please let me know how graphic it is and whether it would be suitable for her.

Michael is not getting off my head.

Michael… Michael… Michael… what a movie. Watched it 3 times already and still can’t get it out of my head. Maybe because I’ve been listening to MJ since childhood, I don’t know, but this movie just hit differently. The music, the aura, the emotions, the performances… everything felt magical.

And honestly, no matter how many controversies or opinions people have, one thing nobody can deny is the impact of Michael Jackson on music and pop culture. His songs, dance moves, stage presence is timeless.

For me, the movie felt more than just entertainment. It felt nostalgic, emotional, and a reminder of why MJ became a global phenomenon in the first place.

Has Anybody watched this movie yet?

Watched Wuthering Heights during the flight and honestly loved the vibe of the movie. The 19th century old England village setting, the dark atmosphere, and the romance slowly flourishing from childhood to adulthood felt beautiful and emotional.

The story may feel common today because so many movies and love stories were probably inspired by the original plot of “Wuthering Heights 1939” over the decades, but you can still feel why this story became such a classic in the first place.

Margot Robbie was brilliant as always, carried the emotional depth so naturally. And our mate Jacob Elordi definitely has a long way to go, but his screen presence and chemistry were really good here.
