Hi everyone,

I'm from Germany and I'm planning to apply for a Bachelor's degree in Taiwan (Taipei) for Fall 2027.

I hold a German Fachhochschulreife (University of Applied Sciences Entrance Qualification) in Business and Administration with a final grade of 3.2.

Over the last few weeks I've contacted some universities but mostly got an copy paste answer.

I was wondering if anyone here has experience with:

• applying to Taiwanese universities with a German Fachhochschulreife,
• getting admitted with a similar qualification,
• or knows how Taiwanese universities usually evaluate foreign high school qualifications.

I'm mainly interested in Business-related programs in Taipei.

I also have another question regarding English requirements:

My Fachhochschulreife officially certifies English at CEFR B2 level. Did anyone with a similar qualification still have to take an IELTS, TOEFL or another English proficiency test, or was the school certificate accepted as proof of English proficiency?

Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated.

ich bin aktuell in der Polizeiausbildung (Bayern) und werde bald in den regulären Dienst übernommen. Schon während der Ausbildung habe ich gemerkt, dass ich irgendwann gerne mal ein Sabbatical machen würde, idealerweise 6 bis 12 Monate, realistischerweise wahrscheinlich eher 6 Monate.

Mir ist klar, dass es vermutlich nicht besonders gut ankommt, direkt nach der Ausbildung danach zu fragen. Deshalb denke ich eher an einen Zeitraum von vielleicht 2–3 Jahren nach Dienstbeginn.

Hat hier jemand Erfahrungen mit Sabbaticals oder längeren Auszeiten bei der Polizei? Mich würde vor allem interessieren:

• Wie realistisch ist es überhaupt, ein Sabbatical von 6 Monaten genehmigt zu bekommen?
• Nach wie vielen Dienstjahren habt ihr so etwas beantragt?
• Wie haben Vorgesetzte darauf reagiert?
