I need an advice
Hey everyone! I have two budgies. Got one 1 year ago, and the other one 6 months ago. The second one (green one) was fine the first 2 weeks. Then he started acting weird. He was lethargic and puffed up very often. Also, he had watery stools. He was still eating, drinking and playing with my other one. Of course, i took him to the vet. They gave him an antibiotic which helped for 2 weeks and then it happened again. Took him to the vet again and they tried a different antibiotic which didn’t help at all. Then they changed it again and that one helped a little bit but he still wasn’t okay. They then analyzed his stool for parasites but it was clean. They still gave him ivermectin which also didn’t help. The doctor then said that we should stop with the antibiotics for a little bit and he gave him probiotics. He was very active other than the stool. That’s until these past few days. He has no balance to stand on the perches, he’s puffed up and is trembling. I took him to his vet asap and he said that he was in a bad condition and that there wasn’t much we can do. He gave him another antibiotic and said we should hope it helps. He’s also lost a lot of weight and has difficulty breathing. Im trying to keep him as comfortable as i can but i just can’t look at him like this. Is there anything else i can do? This is the only avian vet we have in my country that actually knows anything about birds so it’s not like i can take him to someone else. Any advice or suggestion would be appreciated.
P.S. my other budgie is completely fine. He never had any symptoms like this.
