Is this normal or is my Forerunner 70 faulty?

I'm a completely new runner and the screenshots are my 3rd and 2nd runs.

During my run today, my heart rate suddenly shot up according to my watch. I didn't feel that bad and thought I could continue for some extra distance if I wanted to.

Exactly one week ago I ran at similar pace and my watch was showing very low heart rate which I thought to be too low. The run last week actually felt harder than today's run.

Is there any explanation for these heart rates?

Evo SL for beginner?

Hi! I really want to get into running so I'm looking for some running shoes and while I read that the Evo SL is not really beginner friendly, I just saw them for a good price ($100) and I'm really thinking about getting them.

Is it that big of a deal or would them cause me to develop some bad habits?

I was also looking at some of the Kipruns, the ones that would match this price are Kipride (non MAX)
