Any group activities or methods of meeting people in Springfield?

I’ve been a Springfield resident for all 23 years of my life, and I’m still remarkably lonely and isolated from the rest of the world. It could be my anxiety and depression speaking, but it genuinely feels like there’s nothing to do in this city. For reference, my hobbies are reading, writing, and gaming. I’m very much a geek. I’m trying to figure out how to get out of this rut. I sincerely have maybe two friends, and I hardly see them because that’s just how adulting is. I studied BJJ in high school very briefly, and I wrestled a year in high school, so martial arts intrigue me as well (though those can be rather expensive, and work schedules never seem to align with class schedules). I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life, and I’ve probably pushed away the only people who cared about me at some point, but this isolation is merely exacerbating that sense of dread. I’ve been considering getting into hip-hop dance as well. Just throwing both existing interests and prospective interests out there to see if anybody has any leads.

New Night Crew stocker rant.

Last night was my first shift as a Night Crew stocker, and by GOD it was rough. I worked Cap 2 at Walmart for a year, so I’m no stranger to body-breaking, fast-paced work, but I feel like my coworkers aren’t even giving me the time to develop the speed and experience necessary to complete my duties. I was assigned the canned goods aisle, which is apparently supposed to be a rough aisle to stock. With this in mind, I was told by the dude I was shadowing to pick up the pace despite literally not knowing where anything is because, as everybody knows, it’s my first day. I was known as a hard and fast worker at my last two jobs, but it took TIME and experience. I sucked ass when I began at Walmart, but I quickly became known as a reliable and conscientious employee. I guess I’m just sick of unrealistic expectations for brand-new hires.

I’m neurodivergent (autistic), so my rejection sensitivity is very real and unfortunately I shed some tears. I also don’t start therapy back until August 10th, so I’m woefully unmedicated.

Is this the normal stop and shop experience? I already want to quit, but I won’t. I’m savvy enough to understand that termination looks better to the Department of Unemployment. If they have a problem with my speed, I’ll let them get rid of me. I’m also savvy enough to understand that the grass is hardly ever that much greener on the other side in entry/-level jobs. All jobs suck. I’ve sincerely been thinking about applying for disability due to my employment struggles.

Crossing Boston Road in Springfield

As far as I am aware, there’s no bus stop at the Stop and Shop on Boston Road. From the closest stop, I have to cross the killing grounds to McDonalds. I always try to remain cognizant of my mortality, but I’m still terrified. There needs to be some kind of change, because that street has claimed far too many souls. I’m currently newly employed, so I have to rely on public transportation to get there until I can afford an uber. Pray for me y’all. Also, the fact that there’s no stop right at the store eludes me.

▲ 1 r/Hernia

Was diagnosed with an umbilical hernia at the ER.

My (M, 23) belly button burns like hell, but the doctor ran a CT scan, did blood work, urinalysis, and an ultrasound and didn’t see anything that looked dangerous at that moment. They’re also unsure of how the hernia is causing my abdominal pain, since it doesn’t look too inflamed. I can kinda feel it pressing on a nerve inside that sends a tingle to my groin sometimes. They sent me home, but damn it still burns.

The doctor told me to schedule a consult with a specific surgeon at the hospital. Only problem is, my insurance doesn’t kick in until July 1st, so I don’t have a PCP for referral. Kind of at a crossroads. Should I go ahead and give the surgeon a call anyways? I feel like I shouldn’t wait to get a pcp, but what else can I do?
