August 19th 1996. The lead single from, in my opinion, their last great album. The first time I ever (knowingly) heard Patti Smith‘s voice. This track is still magic every time. One of their best.
I was reading through website reviews of the album my group has today and I came across this one. I found it, like all Great Reviews, both sad and funny.
I visited the user page and a truly unfortunate first album generated seems to have snuffed out this journey as it was only beginning.
Despite this user having generated R.E.M‘s Document (earning 3/5) as album number 2 - the user did indeed abandon the project after that. This was a year ago. I wonder if they returned on a different account?
Can anyone guess the identity of the album that nuked this poor person‘s attempt to expand their musical horizons?
Edit: Hint - This album is over an hour long and from the 1980s.
This will seem a petty request to most people I dare say, especially those who don’t even care for this album. My group had it last week and it is only the 11th Five Star Album to appear on our summary page in 333 albums. I‘d love to see the original album cover up there rather than the reissue artwork. Is this tweak possible and does anyone prefer that pink and orange version?
Our album yesterday. We both gave it 3. As does the Universe. That rating graph is nice and tidy. Are there any other perfectly balanced 3s out there?
My group, sadly, has an average rating of 2.49. We are actually very easily pleased - we’ve just had a run of being dealt bad hands! Last week was magic though:

Not a 2 in sight after 127 2-star albums out of 323. The odds are in our favour now surely. I feel like it will all be quality from here on in. We’ll be riding on a wave of 5s all summer long!
