17-1/2’ Clipper Canoe

What have I got here? No idea of its age. I believe it’s Kevlar but could be fiberglass? Fairly light given its size. Has had some repair work done (which isn’t super pleasing to the eye) but it doesn’t leak. I bought it a couple of years ago and don’t really use it (although I had it out today to ensure it doesn’t leak). I love it but it’s too big to handle on my own and none of my housemates seem too interested in going out with me in it anymore so it’s time for it to go. Looking for a ballpark valuation (in CDN $$) before I throw it up on FB Marketplace.

ETA: hard to read but on the tag it says the model is a 17-1/2 Tripper

Hanging one in the truck.

When did pooping in the truck become a thing that that’s “normal”? To the point where we’re offering pointers to other drivers on how to do it most effectively without stinking up the truck too much. Next month, I will have been a class 1 driver for 25yrs and it’s not something I ever heard anyone speak about until recently. In fact, if you’d been discovered as a truck shitter (a “kabinenkacker” if you will, for our German friends), you’d have been ostracized heavily.

I’ve pulled over on the shoulder and run off into the grass to have an emergency dump more than once, but the idea of doing it inside my vehicle is something I’m just not comfortable with. It’s kind of disgusting if I’m being honest. I just can’t imagine a circumstance where someone would need to do this.

Is this just where we’re at as an industry? Too lazy to walk inside and drop the kids off at the pool?

Good lord.

ETA: you people who are normalizing it are fucking weirdos. Your mothers would not be proud of the people you’ve become.

Concerts in Saint John

My 16yo son is looking for venues that feature shows with metal/punk/thrash/post hardcore bands that are available to him. He says that anything he finds is 19+ so he can’t go. Kid is a big fan of live music but is feeling stonewalled by age restrictions.

Can anyone point us in a direction? Thanks in advance for any and all pointers.

Dead deer in my backyard

I have a dead deer in my backyard. Doesn’t appear to have been a traumatic death…looks like she just laid down and died. She’s left a couple of fawns behind which is kind of sad. Is there someone I can call to have her removed? Or is this a situation that I’ll be left to deal with on my own? I’d guess maybe the DNR would be a good place to start but they’re closed till tomorrow. Would be happy to take any other recommendations. Thanks in advance.

Update: talked to DNR. They’re on their way.

Update 2: she’s gone. The matter is now closed.

What would happen if the media just stopped covering Donald Trump? No one asked him any questions or covered any of his rally’s. What would that look like?

Overloaded pickup truck.

Not sure if this would be the right forum, but I’m certain there are some DOT officers lurking in the weeds here that might be able to shed some light for me. This afternoon I saw a fella pulling a camper trailer behind an old dodge ram pickup. The trailer was clearly more than the truck could handle plus he had the box of the truck loaded with crap. Anyways, I got to wondering if anybody has ever seen a situation like this get pulled over by the cops or by a DOT officer for being overloaded. Is this something that happens? If not, why? Because it should. A pickup truck overloaded by even a thousand pounds is far more unsafe than a tractor trailer overloaded by a thousand pounds. Truck driver gets a fine for that thousand pounds and buddy in the pickup carries on to the campground and enjoys his weekend. What gives?
