Francesca Hong Racism

Was scrolling through some of Francesca Hong’s Facebook page and couldn’t help but notice tons of racist comments. Examples include “she eats dogs”, “she’s a Chinese spy”, and “she’s not real Wisconsin culture”. As a second generation Asian person born and raised in Wisconsin, I find this sentiment deeply disturbing. If Hong wins the primary, I fear racism towards Asians will increase substantially. It’s gonna get ugly.

EDIT: This post is NOT an attempt to persuade people to vote against Hong. In fact, I fully intend to vote for her myself. I’m sharing this to bring awareness to Asian hate that’s starting to surface as her campaign gains momentum. Stay safe and be well.
