I blended several types of hand embroidery for this. It's inspired by a couple of my favorite movies (The Witch and Midsommar) combined with my art style which I describe as New Mexican whimsigoth.

I love folk horror and took the aesthetics from two of my favorite films in the genre, "The Witch" and "Midsommar", and combined it with my personal style, which is heavily influenced by being a New Mexican. I used every type of embroidery I know how to do and built the piece in layers. I'm particularly fond of the thread painted goat, I created it by printing a photo of a goat on a printable silk sheet and then used single strand, poly, machine embroidery thread to hand embroider over the photo. Then I essentially turned it into an appliqué and stitched onto the pink felt before going on with the ribbon embroidery and beadwork.

I'm about half way through this project. So far I thread painted the goat (hand stitched with poly machine thread), did all of the flowers with silk ribbon and just started the beading which will end with goldwork.
