Unpopular opinion - Jonas family has much more appeal than the Kardashians

Unpopular opinion - Jonas family has much more appeal than the Kardashians

I'm not a Kardashian hater..

But I feel, Priyanka alongwith the Jonas brothers - Joe, Kevin and Nick. Jonas family seems to have much more appeal than the Kardashians, who are a bit overhyped imo

In terms of talent, Jonas family can sing, act, write songs and with Priyanka in it she can model, act, dance, make music too they seem like a complete package

It might be a controversial take but i don't get what Kardashians do except creating too much family drama which can be pretty annoying at times

Why are there so few mainstream Indian female pop icons?

I'm talking about global pop icons like Taylor Swift from the US. Why are there so few solo female pop icons from India?

The closest we had is Priyanka Chopra but her last single was back in 2013 when her song also debuted in NFL Thursday night football

Bollywood mostly has playback singers like Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal, etc. In KPop, there's Sriya and Aria from India but we don't seem to have global solo female pop icons like for example - Taylor Swift

I feel representation in music and pop is also essential like in movies and films

Portrayal of Indian women in Hollywood - SciFi & Modern themes

SciFi & Modern themes in Hollywood tend to have a lot of global appeal across age groups & genders and here our representation is very limited

Recently announced, Priyanka Chopra and Russell Crowe to star in a SciFi movie - Bluefly. Russell Crowe is an Oscar winning actor for his role in Gladiator. Priyanka's acting in recent films like Heads of State and The Bluff movie was pretty impressive which might lead her to new projects in high action based movies. Previously, Priyanka was part of the Matrix Resurrections cast alongside Keanu Reeves

Rise of the planet of the Apes had Indian actress Freida Pinto in it's cast alongside James Franco. James Franco was Harry Osborn in the original Spiderman series

Source - Imdb

There are only two Indian women working in mainstream SciFi / Action based Hollywood movies at present. I feel, this area tend to have a lot of international audience across age groups & genders and representation in the right places matter a lot

What are your thoughts on this?

Colorism seems to have gotten worse after Priyanka Chopra left Bollywood..

I've noticed that after Priyanka Chopra's exit from Bollywood, her roles were given to Katrina Kaif. There was a Bollywood movie, "Bharat" where initially Priyanka Chopra was signed up as the lead actress. But then, the role went to Katrina

Since then I hardly see any Brown or Darker toned actress in Bollywood. In the past, Bollywood used to cast Dusky & Brown toned Indian women like Bipasha Basu, Riya Sen, Kajol, Rani Mukherji, etc., but now the Dusky & Darker shade Indian women doesn't seem to get any representation at all

Perception bias of Indian women among Non-Desis..

I often feel like Non-Desis have a particular image of how Indian girls are supposed to look like

I see them say whenever images of Indian actress are posted - "Aishwarya Rai, Preity Zinta are Indian women but they're not closer to how Normal Indian girls look like"

But, India is actually quite diverse with a wide range of features and complexion. Even though, majority of the population has common features that stand out more to Non-Indians / Non-Desis

What are your thoughts on this?

Desi & Non-Desi women who seek validation from Indian lncels aren't our ally

This is a group of women we need to be aware of. They exhibit certain characteristics which i've observed..

They tend to take sides of Indian lncels and gaslight all the issues Indian women face in Indian society

They often culturally appropriate Indian / Desi women attires & fashion without giving credits

They have a problem with Indian women dating or marrying men from other ethnicities & countries

Personally, i feel we should be cautious of such women because they're not our ally in any aspect

Indian women, know your enemies and pick your battles wisely..

lndian m-n on X / Twitter have started to justify crimes and violence towards lndian women

According to lndian men, they're more attractive than us so the crimes against lndian women doesn't hold much significance. They only highlight and create havoc when the victim is an Indian man

Everyday on X, lndian m-n are trying to villainize lndian women. I'm seeing very few Indian women on X actually countering them and pushing back against them

The real enemy is always closer than we think and we need unite and counter them

What’s your routine for soft, healthy desi hair?

I feel there’s so much conflicting advice about desi hair - oil it, don’t oil it, wash less, wash more 😭

So i’m curious - what’s your actual routine for soft, healthy desi hair?

What products, habits or treatments made a visible difference for you?. It could be anything like oiling, shampoo, conditioner, hair masks, silk pillowcases, heat protection, etc

Would love to hear from desi girls with all hair types (straight, wavy, curly, thick, etc)

Why do Indian women victims receive less support than the male victims?

There are so many Indian women who lose their lives every year due to dowry culture and mísogyny in lndian society

Everytime the topic of lndian women victims come up, lndian m-n bring up one Atul Subash case to gaslight the women victims and the issues lndian women face in lndian society due to the caste, dowry, colorism and other social hurdles

The story of each women in the image is really tragic and the horror they had to go through is unimaginable. There are so many cases which happened like Ishita Mallick, Rithanya, Ankita Bhandari and several more but these cases aren't given the same level of support as the male victims

Do insecure men body-shame women more often?

South Korea is a comparatively smaller country than India but Korean men win more olympics medals and also participate in the football world cup. Olympics and football world cup are two sports events where men from major countries of every continent compete

But lndian m-n seem to be missing out when the point is competing with men from other countries. Body-shamíng and competing with lndian wom-n seems to be easier for them

I'm starting to believe this more and more, "The smaller the tool size of the m-n, the more likely they'll body-sháme wom-n"

They have already made lndian society so difficult for lndian women with all the colorism, caste, dowry and social hurdles. But still they're not happy, they feel insecure seeing confident Indian women and want to oppress us even more

Indian women collab with international music artists. We need more representation in MVs / Song collabs..

We have less representation in Global MVs and Collab Music. I hope for more Indian women collabs with International music artists and song writers

Some weeks back when Asha Sharma was announced the Xbox Ceo, people were criticising her on X. Remarks were being made about her being ethnically Indian woman and leading Xbox in the gaming industry. Now after some weeks they are praising her. She is still the same Indian woman with the same credentials which got her there, why was she criticised in the beginning without any reason?. Now after seeing her work they're praising her again, what's with this hypocrisy?

Recently, Priya Patel was trending on X for being embarrassed of her Indian roots from her dad. I've noticed this that mixed people with Indian mothers seem to acknowledge their Indian side more and are culturally more happy to have Indian roots too
