Replacement mower confirmed
Well, after more than 3 weeks of waiting on customer service, Lymow has finally agreed that my unit is defective. No matter what I tried, the mower’s location service would essentially crash. There was no rhyme or reason for when it would do it. Sometimes it could mow part of a zone. Sometimes it couldn’t even leave its dock. I suspect something very strange happened when mapping a zone. A firmware glitch. A corrupted module. Something that could not be remedied with resets, power offs, or updates.
When the mower would lose its location service, it would just stop completely because it didn’t know where it was in relation to the RTK base station. After that, nothing would work. I can’t even manually drive it in that state.
Thankfully, support has agreed to replace the unit. I am just waiting on a return label (who knows how long that will take).
This seems like a very rare, isolated problem. So I am hopeful that the replacement unit won’t fall into the same cycle. I’ve only seen one other Redditor with this problem.
Long story short for anyone reading this in the future, if your mower glitches out with E15, E16, and E21 errors, something is causing location services to crash. And there is nothing you can do to fix it. Replacement is the only option.
