I am a high school teacher wrapping up a M.Ed, so I suspect my experience is a bit different than most people’s in this sub. The major project was conducting action research in our classroom and then creating a portfolio of our best work from our time in the program.
My defense is right around the corner and we are told it’s not really a defense, but more so a professional conversation about how we’ve grown. I asked my advisor about preparation, but just got a brief answer stating that I don’t really need to present anything and that I should just expect a conversation.
So, any tips for preparing? It almost sounds too easy but I don’t want to make the mistake of under preparing. I posted this in the teacher sub and only got one response, but it was a good one suggesting I try to relate everything to a theme of my teaching philosophy.
This is the issue we need to be talking about.
Culver’s used to mail out coupons across town that included a bogo double cheeseburger, it was a steal of a deal. I’m not afraid to admit that I’d grab the discarded Culver’s coupons from the trash in my apartment entryway.
$33, took just under a month to arrive. Lots of loose threads, but it is what it is and fits well.
My cat laid on it immediately, so it collected some hair
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but every city’s bus system has its own nuances that can make things confusing at times.
If I purchase a one day bus pass on the HFXGO app, does that cover my bus ticket from the airport into the city or does it only cover busses in the city proper? I’ve seen that if one has just a single bus ticket, they need to “top it off” to fully cover the airport bus.
Just thought it was awkward/funny
It’s been up for awhile now, but I feel it doesn’t get enough love
Totally random question that popped into my head that is rather meaningless but now I’m curious.
Obviously UND hockey dominates people’s attention, but is Grand Forks more of a Jets or Wild town?
I’m honestly skeptical that any Democrat will win statewide, but talk of the populist right voting blue has eroded my skepticism to a degree. Vern Thompson seems to have the best odds given beef, tariff, and data center frustrations. I would love to see Trygve Hammer win, but Fedorchak has too strong of a following.
I am a teacher doing action research with 15 student participants. I had students respond to both a pre and post s*rvey (word isn’t allowed on this sub haha) on Google Forms. Each time I got 16 responses, meaning 1 extra. Responses were collected anonymously and every single response was received within a three minute time frame since they filled out the Forms in class. There is no outlier time-wise and I also can’t see an obvious duplicated response when analyzing them.
So how do you tackle this ethically in a paper? Of course I can’t just delete a response arbitrarily. Just use all 16 responses and then dive into the problem in the limitations section? It’s strange that I got an extra response both times.
Asking Reddit rather than my advisor because by his own admission, he’s not very familiar with action research.

Today I realized I am 25 days past the deadline to apply for summer graduation (it was May 1). I guess my excuse is that I was following a checklist that said “make sure to apply for graduation early in the semester.” I interpreted this as early in my final semester, but nope, I guess it meant early in the preceding semester. My advisor said to apply anyway and that we’ll have to wait and see what they say, so I did. I’m going to call the graduate office in the morning and see if anything can be done.
So I’m mostly just curious if this has happened to anyone else, and if so, what ended up happening?
I’ll be in DC next week and would like to attend a committee meeting since I’m a government nerd. I know everything is very formal, so should I probably throw on some khakis and a buttoned shirt? I see that Rubio is testifying before the Foreign Relations, how early should one lineup for a high profile one like that? Anything else a guy should know? Thanks!
Even with running a marathon and getting real skinny, chest fat has been stubborn, leading me to feel more confident it’s gyno. Is it worth just paying the $100-200 dollars to get an expert’s opinion?
