Anyone else had issues with the Midas on Summer & Highland (formerly Right Tire)?

Anyone else had issues with the Midas on Summer & Highland (formerly Right Tire)?
Just putting this out there because I genuinely feel like I was getting scammed, and this is actually my second experience like this with this shop.

Most recently, I went in for an alternator issue and was initially quoted around $1,500 for the alternator, belt, labor, fees, etc. Once I questioned the price and asked for a breakdown, they were suddenly able to lower it to around $1,000. I called another reputable local shop and was quoted roughly $700 for the alternator replacement. They also recommended replacing my fairly new battery even though it had just tested good at an auto parts store.

A few months ago, I took the same vehicle there for an oil leak and was told I needed my oil pan replaced. They then tried to add roughly another $2,000 in work because they said my power steering fluid was leaking. I declined that additional work, and four months later I’ve had no issues with the power steering. On top of that, they initially installed the wrong oil pan, so the vehicle was still leaking and I had to bring it back the very next day. I wasn’t refunded anything for the inconvenience.

To be fair, everyone I’ve dealt with there has been friendly and professional. But after two experiences involving expensive additional recommendations, the huge difference between their quote and another shop’s quote, and the previous repair issue, I don’t feel comfortable taking my vehicle there anymore.

Just wanted to share my experience so other people know to get a second opinion before approving expensive repairs. Curious if anyone else has had similar experiences with this location. Please spread the word to anyone that uses this Midas location or any other Midas location.

Where do young people hangout?

Where do people in their mid-20s actually hang out around Memphis?
I’ve been here for about a year, and I’m trying to figure out where the 23–30 crowd goes. It seems like Downtown and South Main are full of younger people, but every time I’ve been to Loflin Yard it’s been pretty dead. I’ve also tried Young Avenue Deli and Madison Tavern without much luck.
Brookhaven seems to be more of an older crowd, and Beale Street feels like it’s mostly college students or people just visiting.
Is there just not a young crowd here? Do they just not go out if so? Am I just going to the wrong places or on the wrong nights? Where do people in their mid-20s actually go to meet people and hang out?
