we closed on our first house last wednesday so we're now in the appliance and furnitures phase. everyone keeps saying wait for memorial day sales for appliances and tvs and but we absolutely have no idea what we're doing or looking for.

like which items drop prices that day? so i could start looking for other things we need that won't be included on the memorial day sales. also how do you even comparison shop for major appliances when every model number is slightly different across stores?

I did my first solo backpacking trip recently, and it was a lot more reflective than I expected.

One thing I kept noticing was how different my sense of time felt without constant distractions.

Days felt slower in a good way, but also made me realize how fast everything normally moves at home.
