Unsightly slope with new grass growing in patches…suggestions please
I live in North San Diego county and have this hideous slope in my backyard where I’m trying to get some more greenery. There is some ice plant growing in after the spring rain we’ve been getting and my brother threw down a lot of Fescue grass seed about a month ago and also some white clover seed two weeks ago (but no topsoil and the natural soil here looks really dry - he did at least rake and till the soil beforehand and added some fertilizer).
I already see a lot of new young grass growing in but it’s so patchy (do I just need to give it more time?)
I read later that are grass seed mixes made for slopes like Pennington Slope Master and really regret not using that. Should I try to sprinkle some of that on the slope because of the tackifier it has in it, maybe it’ll help?
Also, there’s a flat area in the yard where the corners remain dry and bare no matter how much I seed and water…should try something like peat moss for water retention?
