After 4 months of diligently logging custom tags to gain better insights, I just found out Oura doesn't let you access that data anywhere. I'm fuming.

So I've been using Oura's custom tags to track things that aren't in their standard library (cannabis, specific supplements, etc.) and recently pulled all my data via the API to do my own analysis (because Oura doesn't give you any insights on custom tags whatsoever). Don't get me started that it's wild that something like cannabis doesn't have its own tag given its widespread usage and impact on the metrics Oura lets you track.

I've been logging these tags for months under the assumption that my data was mine and I'd be able to analyse it outside of the app at least. Every single custom tag I've ever logged isn't there. Not in the API response, nor in the member dashboard data export.

What makes it more frustrating is that the app doesn't give you any insights on custom tags anyway. So they're not analysable in-app, and not accessible for your own analysis. It's hard to understand what the feature is actually for.

Has anyone found a workaround? Is there an undocumented endpoint? Would love to know if others have hit this - feels like something worth pushing back on collectively.
