The City of Richland has plans in the works to add new technology to monitor the streets. These technologies include drones, body cams, cameras on existing light poles, and the use of homeowners’ and businesses’ private video monitoring systems.
Today, Skyler Rude announced he's stepping down from his seat as the 16th Legislative District representative. But, he still encouraging people to vote for him so that Republicans can appoint an unelected toady to fill the seat. This is not a representative democracy. This is a "vote for the party, so the party can remain in control."
Vote for the person who actually wants to represent the District, Derek Sarley. Not the guy that resigned to work for the Democratic Secretary of State. Because it's clear Rude will work for a Democrat but still wants his party to pick a sycophant.

Port of Benton update: The cost to taxpayers
In addition to taxpayers covering private airplane hangars, the Port of Benton agreed to pay Gravis Law in taxpayer dollars.

Note that they claim to "support women's sports" but use pictures like this without actually advocating for better pay or equality.
They only support women's sports in the most perfunctory ways and use it to punch down on kids that are trans.

This story is very complicated and has updates since it went to print.
First, a criminal investigation has begun. The Franklin County Sheriffs Office is handling that. We have a quote from Sheriff Jim Raymond:
The Franklin County Sheriffs Office at the request of the Richland PD Chief. The investigation is literally in its infancy. Investigators have hours and hours of interviews to conduct along with evidence gathering to complete. When the investigation is complete it will be forwarded to the Richland Police Department for dissemination.
RPD was unable to investigate because the City is a victim of the illegal connections.
Second, the Tri-City Herald covered a story regarding the city shutting off the water to hangers that were illegally hooked up.

Is it time to go fare free?
The Ben Franklin Transit offers free fares to people under 18, senior citizens, and veterans.
The costs of collecting fares is more than they collect. Residents living in the benefit district already pay for the transit through sales tax.
