AIO for hating the shit out of this new community service?
Okay so, uh, a little context here since I guess that’s super important or some shit. Me (~33 male) am from an extraterrestrial colony, but moved to an extra-planetary colony consisting of four space stations when I was young. Long story short, there were two (technically, it gets complicated) main spaceships where all the people lived in this colony: the guys with a bunch of resources who run 3/4 of the space stations for whatever reason, and the religious ones (where my mom and I moved).
The guys with a bunch of resources like to use community service time for criminals in either space station group, and some of those missions are for exploring weird celestial bodies. I don’t understand, I’m not sure they do either, but they’ve been fashioning some rust bucket stuff out of scraps so someone can investigate one of them. They say they think there’s some answers for the kind of universe-ending problem we have going on out here down there, but I don’t believe a single fucking word of that.
Okay supposedly the first criminal being sent to investigate this creepy planet thing because of an accident on a previously existing production space station, which was not my fault. I was the one they decided to place the blame on, so I took my punishment since it was my word against theirs, and that’s why I’m being sent down in this death trap.
Like, can you believe this? I have a hard time believing this isn’t just some sick torture method they use to kill criminals. They insist it’s for the good of humanity, but what the hell could I even find in the middle of an ocean out in space?
I can’t be overreacting for hating this, right?
