Advice for rebuilding a community
Hello, SWU fans! As my title says, I'm looking for advice on how to rebuild my local scene. Back when the game came out we had 20+ people at weeklies and our Showdowns were huge. With SHD and TWI the game took a nosedive in our community. I think part of it was the lack of product for SOR and poor reception around sets 2 & 3. Also our only LGS in town that carries the game made weeklies pack-per-win, so the local meta got uncomfortably sweaty. They finally changed it during TWI to 2 packs for playing, but at that point were were down to 4-6 players. Nowadays we're lucky if we get 2 or 3 players at weeklies and our Showdowns/Pre-releases are 9 or 10 players at best. My LGS is also less enthusiastic about the game. The owners used to actually build decks and play with us during weeklies and now we're lucky if they even order product by release day (They were late for LAW). I've tried talking to 1 of the other 2 LGS in my town, but they've been burned by FFG before and refuse to carry the game. My only option now is to try the 3rd LGS, I guess, but I don't normally play there. They only carry MTG and Pokémon, so I figured it wouldn't be worth asking. Any advice or suggestions?
