From the opening scene it just goes and reminded me why I enjoy Star Wars. This isn’t trying to be The Phantom Menace or Return of the Sith and carry the weight of the galaxy on its shoulders. It’s just a fun adventure. I even found myself rooting for a certain family I never thought I would. Also as a Star Wars Unlimited player, seeing names, ships, and little references show up was awesome. Had me doing the Leo pointing meme a few times. For a couple hours I forgot real life and just enjoyed the ride and believed in something bigger. Anyway, worth the watch.

Coming from riftbound

Hey everyone I've been a lurker and I'm thinking very seriously about selling my riftbound collection and picking up Swu. I've always loved the gameplay and this new set kind of has it all for me so far, including the art!

I've been playing around online a little to get a taste for the decks and gameplay and to put it mildly I'm getting abused. Like I'm not just losing I'm getting blown out. I'm new enough that card familiarity is definitely a problem but I know that will get better with time. Aside from that though, what are things you guys feel every knew player should know out the gate? And for extra points, what are things YOU wish you would have known earlier in your swu career?

Twin Suns - what does your game end usually look like?

A group of friends that I've been playing Commander with for over a year recently dove into Twin Suns. Most of the group is really enjoying the change, but we are all trying to feel out how to best win a game vs just ending it.

For those that have more experience with the format, what's a typical end game flow? Are people. Usually trying to keep everyone close on base health until someone thinks they can get a kill that will hold the round? Does it ever happen where a player gets focused down far before the others and now it's dancing around getting the kill without setting it up for someone else?

This part is going really odd for us, we haven't played a game with a win condition anything like this. Maybe there are some game replays we could watch to see how it usually flows or things to look out for.

Movie Grogu Card Promo

I work at a movie theatre and was just wondering how “rare” this may be in the Star Wars unlimited scene ( I am new and don’t really know much about these cards)

Box or complete set?

I currently have no local scene or player for this game. I have only bought starter decks and played against myself (and against a family member once). I recently learned about Twin Suns and picked up the decks as I got some family members in to Magic Commander and I am sure they would like this for when I travel and visit them. I have been obsessed with how this game plays (been playing TCGs for 27 years) and am a light SW fan.

Anyway, I want to make my own decks as I prefer keeping precons as precons. I saw a full single set of cards is just over $100 and learned today a whole box goes for under $100. I am floored at the price and want to get a box of each set. But then I reached a dilemma.

I prefer formats like Twin Suns (commander) because it is singleton. I collect playsets in Lorcana, and noticed two boxes get me a playset (4 cards) of all the commons and uncommons, and some rares. A playset in SWU is three. So how many boxes would it take to get a playset of commons and uncommons? I plan on approaching this casually, so I am also leaning towards just buying a full set (not playset) of the expansions. I could then just snag a cheap bulk bundle afterwards, but I much prefer opening my own stuff and enjoy playing what I randomly received.

TL;DR: Does a booster box give a playset of commons? A playset of uncommons? If not, then how many boxes? After that, what would be the cost to finish the set (for missing singles, not a full playset)?

Thank you.

Took down my first store showdown with Padmé Red!

Went 5-0 on the day, so pumped to see this list pop off! Happy to hear thoughts on deck construction and possible improvements!

Matches I faced:

  1. Palp6 Red Control (2-1)

  2. Lando LC (2-0)

  3. Yularen Red (2-1)

  4. Lando LC (2-1)

  5. Boba LC (2-0)

Really ran the whole slate of big decks and came out the other end feeling really good. Main thing this deck is trying to do is play Bix on 4r, generate two credits, and then slam down Luke Skywalker on the 5r turn. It's the perfect answer to lando playing Rose Tico on 5r. It's one of my favorite answers to devastator and invisible hand (only takes 1 ping to kill). Also can eat Boba LC alive because they don't play any units with more than 5 HP until devastator. Luke has gone super under the radar but it turns out killing a unit and leaving behind a 9/7 is really good!

Sideboard:

1x Qui-Gon Sentinel

2x Aggressive Negotiations

3x Arvel Skeen

2x The Mandalorian

2x Jam Communications

Happy to hear thoughts, really excited to bring this to PQ!

What are the best options for budget decks?

New to the Star Wars tcg and was curious what the “budget” decks in the game are with any possible lists or link, aggro would be nice but play style doesn’t matter too much. just curious on my options.

SWU Hyperbuild Mobile Deckbuilder (iOS/Android) - Update 1.3.0 (Somehow, SWUH Returned...)

Hi all - first off I want to apologize profusely.

I created a mobile deckbuilder because I love the game. I did it right before a huge change in my life, which took me away from SWU in general and massively impacted what free time I had for anything - so I put my family first and the deckbuilder fell to the wayside.

I've been able to come back to TCGs as a whole and to my #1 game - SWU. With that, I've poured some love into the app and brought it forward:

  • Sets added - LOF through LAW.
  • UI polish and bug fixes
  • OTA updates - when corrections to data, card images, etc are needed, they can be corrected without a store update.
    • Spoilers can also be pushed to the app without an update as well!
      • Spoliers for ASH are live in the app!

And as another apology, coming soon will be solo play against AI so you can quickly try out your big brain deck ideas on a UX-friendly, smooth mobile client. (Selfishly, this was the whole point of the app - so I could build list ideas quickly and test them out immediately.). Here's a preview (apologies, some of the UI is not completely polished):

https://swuhyperbuild.com/updates/solo-play-preview/

To anyone who has given the app a chance in the past I thank you sincerely. To anyone who picks it back up and gives it another chance - well, hopefully I can repay your attention with great features and updates moving forward.

Yours truly,

Li (bonafidePROdev)

PS - Multiplayer is on my roadmap.

Movie Promos

Are the MV26 promos currently legal to play? Or do we have to wait for ASH to come out since they're in that set too?

Additionally, does the set code imply that we'll be getting movie promos for whenever Starfighter comes out?

Unprinted JTL Base Variants?

I have a really random question: Were there ever any hyperspace versions of the "Mos Eisley/TIE Fighter" and "City in the Clouds/X-Wing" bases printed for JTL? I've been looking for those two specifically on TCGPlayer for a while, and they're always "out of stock." I'm starting to think they've never existed at all.

Any chance anybody has them so I can finally get some sleep tonight know for sure?

Funny/Interesting Combos?

What're some interesting or funny combos you guys have discovered?

One I've toyed around with just the tiniest bit is Queen Amidala + Implicate. In the case where they have no removal, bounce, or -/- stat modifiers, this just creates a theoretically invincible sentinel Queen Amidala.

But I'm curious what you guys have found, even if you can never get the play off or if the pay off is not worth it.
