Need help making purchase decision

A game store near me is offering a bundle deal that’s one carbonite box and one normal box for about 300. Is this a good deal for my goal with this set, that goal is to really just have a handful of different prestige cards and maybe at least one showcase leader.

Really asking if it’s better to just wait and buy those singles or should I risk it since it’s a decent deal for 2 boxes, I think decent deal.

Edit: it’s for the new ashes set coming out

Comparing Ashes Pre-Release Tier Lists

I've pulled together a comparison of the leader tier rankings that I have seen so far (admitedly crude). I did the same thing for LAW, but in general the results seem more consistent for ASH.

Not everyone uses an A to F (or S to D) scale so apologies if I have misinterpreted anyone's ratings. I've converted letter ratings to numbers and then taken the mean. This is not meant to be exhaustive, just a wrap up of the ratings I have seen so far.

Everyone seems pretty certain that Greef, Cad, Baylan and Ezra will be the best options.

The Mandalorian seems to have the largest variance, with disagreements on how useful his ability will be in Limited.

Losing my mind

I’m writing this post because the always kind and gentle people of reddit are quite literally my only hope. My friend and I have been playing the game together at our local store and not many people play Star Wars unlimited besides 2 other people. I’ve played the game with another friend from release to LotF and now getting back into it. My question comes with the rule about attacking with a unit, specifically attacking an enemy unit with a unit. Everywhere I’ve looked the rule is you can attack another unit or the enemies base. However, the 2 people we’ve been playing with are saying that in order to attack an enemy unit with your own, the enemy unit must be exhausted. A ready unit cannot attack a ready unit. I have read the rule book, watched videos, and watched tournaments and I haven’t seen anything to support this. Please help me sort this out and if they’re right please quote the rules cause I’m going crazy.

A Lawless Time Draft

Hey y'all!

I'm participating in one final LAW Draft tonight before the release of the new set. I was wondering if anyone could provide any tips to someone who has done just a bit better than average in my previous drafts.

Thanks!

Gimmick Deck 1: X-Wing Swarm

I love making gimmick decks. On my break at work I just sit back and play around with different deck ideas. So I decided I'll start sharing some of those and just sort of have fun with them, and hopefully, someone also finds them entertaining to try!

I tend to name these very literally, so this deck plays as the title suggests - swarm the board with x-wings. Everything was thought of with that goal in mind. Pilots are to add versatility in case the ground begins to get too stacked for you to handle, and there's some events included with the purpose in mind of cleaning up the ground units.

SWU Twin Suns scene in Germany

Hello guys

I will be moving to germany next month and was wondering how the twin suns scene is in Germany in general. We play it often (almost weekly) in my country and I would love to find an LGS or group that lays often.

Thanks!

Future of Piloting?

Do you think we will see future sets use the Piloting mechanic of once was that really just for a single set and going to be rotating out in the next block for good?

SWU Custom Horizontal Card Dividers [FREE]

Hello there everyone, I designed a custom set of horizontal dividers for Star Wars: Unlimited to fit standard 1000-count bulk storage boxes, and I'm sharing the files for free! They are exactly 88.9mm x 72mm. Since horizontal cards sit 63.5mm high, these provide a precise 8.5mm top tab that fits perfectly under tight box lids (7.25cm max internal clearance) without getting crushed.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/104fr8pXis0jxhSt2K1LU8UzTiUYuk5Sz/view?usp=sharing

What’s Included:

34 Total Divider Graphics: Designed around a primary-aspect-first layout style so your card pool stays clean and easy to draft. Also includes four PDF documents with each divider arranged and sized properly.

  • Core: Leaders, Bases, Tokens
  • Vigilance (Blue): Ground Units, Space Units, Events, Upgrades
  • Command (Green): Ground Units, Space Units, Events, Upgrades
  • Aggression (Red): Ground Units, Space Units, Events, Upgrades
  • Cunning (Yellow): Ground Units, Space Units, Events, Upgrades
  • Neutral Pools: Heroism, Villainy, and Neutral
  • Sets: All sets up to and including Intro Battle Hoth, Homeworlds and Icons

Silhouette Studio Template (.studio3): Pre-made and ready to cut.

Print & Cut Tips:

  • Layout: Print on four sheets of 8.5x11 (Letter) paper in a 3x2 grid (6 per sheet).
  • Lamination: Print on heavy cardstock (I used 271gsm), seal in at least 3mil lamination, and then cut out with scissors, hobby knife, automated cutter or whatever tool you have.

Edit1: Also wanted a "Token" divider and I forgot to upload the PDFs with all the cards pre-arranged. The URL updated with the changes in v1.1

Edit2: Combined the PDF files into one, and added several more divider options including one for all the sets, and a blank to create your own. URL updated with the changes in v1.2

TWI Anakin Eternal ideas?

My LGS group wants to run some eternal. I really wanted to bring my beloved Anakin deck back around. I was thinking of just using the one from pre rotation, but I figured there’s some potential in the new stuff and I wanted to compare brains with some people :))

New Discord For SWU in Minneapolis Twin cities area

I am creating this Discord channel because I find the lack of cohesion in the area pretty rough. Also, if you’re good at working on discord channels, you’re more than welcome to volunteer to help admin. I could use all the help I can get.

Need Help in Blue Green against Thrawn and Cad.

These are the two leaders I like most with the current meta/release you may recognize me from being obsessed with trying to make Krennic Blue work last season.

My biggest headaches are Thrawn and Cad. Do I even actually have a hope against them or is it just "preying to RNGesus they don't have what I think they're totally going to have?"

with Thrawn I call out The Legacy Run, or Chimera depending when I can play Ryder. However he also has Helgait and commonly also has the 2 cost fighter that can give advantages.

Seems like no matter what he just manages to roll right over me, do I need a lot more ambush so when he pumps something I can just smack it down? Or do I need to slot more sentinels so that he can't just keep base wacking?

In a world with no glory I dare not play Paz Vizsla instead of the mandalorian sentinel.

With Krennic if it isn't legacy run it's helgait, if it's not helgait its vizsla taking all my mobs. Seems like he's just got everything he needs to whoop me and nothing I can really do?

Cad is similar, if I go base he hits me harder. If I go defensive he just laughs and murders my minions. I'll usually call out like Ninth sister at turn 6 or AT 7 and he'll just ping it and throw down the crap to kill ryder and use it next turn. THen I gotta hope I kept a 1-2 cost card in hand.

Are these two decks just made to counter blue green hero/villain, and therefore I am already likely to lose because it's Rock paper scissors?

(also I don't remember the meta being so "this beats that and always loses to this" or am I misremembering?)

--------

Also a random question. I was playing against Cad Blue today, and I had them, I had sentinels on the ground and my luke out, but space was vulnerable, they took initative and I said "Let me guess AN? or PB?" cause they had devastator out and I just couldn't kill it.

They said no, they had to topdeck and then conceded? What does that mean?
