Insomnia caused by ocd

Insomnia and OCD Peeing and Clock Watching

I thought I have insomnia but I finally realised that it was OCD causing my insomnia.

I need to pee before going to bed. Oftentimes, I will lie in bed and think that I need to pee again as I dont believe I actually already peed. I doubt my own memory of peeing.

If i wake up in the middle of the night, the first thought is “what time is it?”, followed by “I need to pee or I wont be able to sleep again”. If I fight the urge to pee, I will stay awake the rest of the night anxious. If I go to pee, there is a 30 percent chance i will fall asleep again. So I often give in to my compulsion.

however, after peeing, my second OCD kicks in, I will anxiously clock watch every 30mins or so until the alarm goes off. This can be a two to three hours clock watching. It’s ridiculous!

These two OCD issues are really destroying my sleep and my life.
