How to tell if a chest can be used as a seat?
Not really a "beginner" question since I'm not an actual woodworker, but this was the best sub I could find that would let me post.
I have a spot that I thought would be a really nice place to have a bench/chest piece. But I don't want to buy a chest only to have it collapse on me or my guests because it wasn't built to support a full-sized adult (or two).
How can I tell if a chest is strong enough to support a person sitting on it?
