Took down N, Ghetsis, and even Alder (Genlocke Part 5)
I finally finished up my run of Black 1. I had a lot of work cut out for me to get through N and Ghetsis, but I decided to also push through the post-game and do the Elite 4 Rematches to have an official fight with Alder and be crowned Champion since I personally find him to be one of my favorite Champions in the series.
Now let me introduce my new Champions:
-Socks the Sawk Ability: Sturdy (Lvl74, Met @ Route 10) Socks was a late addition to the team in my run but proved invaluable as he helped me with Grimsley, N and Ghetsis and of course Alder. He was more situational outside of fighting Grimsley but he was a very good switch in with Sturdy and his amazing attack and speed.
-Mini the Mamoswine Ability: Snow Cloak (Lvl 73, Met @ Giant Chasm) Mini was a late addition into my final team after losing a few to the post-game Cheren Rematch, but this girl's Bulk and strength helped take out a few very scary Pokemon for me.
-Duckbert the Golduck Ability: Cloud Nine (Lvl74, Met @ Route 14) Like with Mini, Duckbert was another late addition after losing a few Pokémon but he proved himself in the end. His typing helped out a bit vs the Elite 4, while still hitting decently hard thanks to what he could learn.
-Cogsworth the Klinklang Ability: Plus (Lvl74, Met @ Chargestone Cave) Cogsworth was one of the oldest pokemon I had with me in this team, being a part of my team since Chargestone Cave and even soloing Brycen with Eviolite. Cosworth let me do some fun switch ins with it's amazing Ability to take a hit, and even having good speed to make use of Volt Switch. Although, they didn't hit the hardest in every fight, Cogsworth did an amazing job being a wall.
-Victor the Victini Ability: Victory Star (Lvl74, Met @ Liberty Garden) While I didn't use Victor for most of the game, they did a fantastic job helping me with the Elite 4 rematches. They hit hard and anytime Victor was in danger they could escape with U-Turn.
Retired Pokemon:
I actually didn't have any retired Pokemon in this run. Any Pokémon that helped me in the gyms or Elite 4, all died or made it to the Champion Team so I want to give special mention to 2 deaths I had this run that were both originally in-game trades.
-Lillil the Lilligant
:This death hurt me a lot since I lost my starter and most of my early team members around Castelia and Nimbasa besides Lillil. After that, Lillil swept Clay for me and became a central part of my team all the way up to Victory Road where I lost it against a Gigalith who OH-KOed Lillil with a Crit Stone Edge. It felt like losing ym starter all over again and hurt so much since I was so close to the Elite 4.
-Paul IV the Xatu
:While Paul sat a backseat through most of the game since most fighting types had some sort of rock type move, it still hurt losing him against Cheren. Paul has been with me since my run through of Johto in Crystal, and was my last remaining Champion from the previous regions, though thankfully the run didn't end.
Overall my run through Black 1 was a lot of fun, but I did forget how much GRINDING vs Audino you have to do to stay adequately leveled. Anyways, how do you think I did? Any comments on my team, or tips for Black 2? Let me know in the comments.
I'll be posting again after I make my run through Black 2, not up to Iris, but all the way up to Benga including all post-game superbosses such as a rematch with a certain Blonde Champion in Undella. Anyways wish me luck.
