Best song (and album!) relating to DID (for me lol)

Best song (and album!) relating to DID (for me lol)

I know as of 2020 this particular artist has drawn the attention of controversy (yet again). However, this song, "Enantiomorph" is a love letter to oneself. This whole album is supposed to be rather introspective and the artist has deep levels of early trauma and I have been noticing themes of trauma and even DID in their lyrics for ages now. This is probably one of their softer songs in 30+ years, but it's my new favorite. Enjoy!! I added a link for the video of the song and a link for the lyrics page since the video doesn't have them yet. Even if you don't want to hear music or sounds right now, I highly recommend reading the lyrice at the least :) "The sky can't fall forever" <3

My first does anyone else experience X inquiry lol

Trigger/Content Warning: vague mentions of psychotic-like symptoms, vague mention of trauma (safer wording than news headline language, I -think- ! )

, folks. I have been in a state of constant fight, flight, freeze, and fawn for ... About 2 months now. There has been a series of about 3-5 significant and traumatizing or retraumatizing events happening since June I think.

Uh, I've been told/have read that when the brain is so hyper vigilant for so long (all 24 hours of every day basically for this amount of time) that your brain can only rationalize it as imaginary danger until it starts filling in it's own imaginary dots to make it make sense out of frustration or confusion? So it is remarkably similar to delusional thinking in the sense that it's not typically bizarre like in psychotic disorders. For me this manifests as being in constant danger of violence, stalking, and all sorts of danger. And anyone is a potential danger to me or is pretending not to be.

I am very safe in the sense I know it's not rational but with compounded sleep deprivation it just -feels- real. I also have my partner to help ground me just a little and to orient me and to reassure me. I was just wondering if anyone else has had an experience similar to this?? It's rare for me, but does happen sometimes!

Thanks for reading! -DD

Hey, thanks for having me :)

Hey, folks. I have been aware of my DID and working on it for some time, however, I rarely interact with others who also have it. I'm 31 and this sub was appealing because of the demographic it's more geared toward! My partner also has DID (strange coincidence, introduced by a mutual friend) but not everyone is the same!

I'm very reserved, and had been living in isolation (by choice) for about two years. Socializing is hard, but I'm ready to try to make some friends, or just be able to relate to others.

I hope you all are having the best day that you can. The world can be a confusing and scary place, but we've made it this far, right?! :)
