Loving the lumix 100-300 f4-5.6 II

I was very on the fence when this lens came up when I was looking at buying my next lens. I heard about issues with it being soft on the long end and having to stop down significantly. While it is true it’s best to stop down slightly and shoot at 275mm, the lens is fantastic and so lightweight. I’ll definitely upgrade to the 100-400 for the extra reach at some point but as someone just starting out, you can’t go wrong with getting this lens 😁

I have a newfound respect for bird photographers…

I sat down for my lunch on my photo walk today and a Woodpecker decided to join. I managed to capture it mid-hunt, actively listening to the movement inside the tree for its next meal. Super happy with how these images turned out 😁

I have now gained a big appreciation for bird photographers because getting these shots was HARD. First you have to find them and luckily he was on a dead tree with no leaves.. I have no idea how you’d find them in a tree full of leaves.. next you have to find them AGAIN through your EVF 😂 and lastly you’ll have to find them again if you have a habit of looking at the LCD screen when changing your settings 🫠 also making sure the images are properly exposed in the maze of shadows is a challenge so respect to all the bird photographers on here 🫡

Ive had a camera for 2 weeks now, loving the experience and hopefully you guys will enjoy the stuff I put out 😁

Just bought my first camera (Lumix G9) and took my first ever photos.

Any advice/tips for my shots? Looking for ways to improve (also, yes I know the photo of the deer isn’t the best quality, the longest lens I have only reaches 100mm 😭)
