I am mainly referring to the rise of our fake "smart" friend. I see posts about people being accused of using them to write their books or students who are accused of turning in papers that are not their own, when, in fact, it is their own writing. Just wondering if there are any precautions I should take to be able to defend my writing or what yall are doing to "prove" that your words are yours and not regurgitated slop?

I have two sisters. They are much closer in age (17 months apart) and I've been the "odd one out" since there is a big age gap (16 years behind).

One i am pretty close with now, we'll call her ashley. We've been working on our relationship and she was always more empathetic with me. The other one I am not close with, we'll call her brenda. She lacks empathy with certain groups of people, she typically wants to talk about negative things, she is very judgmental, and she has a strong tendency with hypocrisy. Whenever we used to get together, I would get in some sort of argument with her (like screaming match). I no longer wanted that to be my involvement, so I have been taking therapy, and reading self help books, and really owning my reactions to things so that I don't get in those situations anymore. I am proud of the work I've done because I've been able to be in the room without things going off the rails. Brenda will still pick fights with people and turn small disagreements into these long, drawn-out uncomfortable arguments. For example, brenda got mad at Ashley, because Ashley was taking the half-finished bottles of alcohol home, and Brenda said "save me some" and Ashley said "oh, I didnt think you drank this."

And that sent Brenda over the edge. Yes, literally that. She was offended that Ashley assumed she didnt drink that type of liquor. And after ashley handed her one of the bottles, brenda kept bringing it up how offensive it is for ashley to assume (again, this was a small assumption about alcohol preferences). She brought it up the next day!! She struggles with letting things go.

This is one example, and this is the behavior of a woman who is close to 50 years old. And it's been the behavior for 20 years.

So, my wedding. I dont know what to do. I don't want to include Brenda. At all. I don't want to see her. I dont want ashley to have to watch out for brenda. Because almost every family event where brenda is involved, something is offensive and it becomes everyone's problem.

What do I do?

I should also add, I am not yet NC with brenda, but I do have her notifications on snooze because I am still working through the anxiety of her presence and contact. Also I must mention, the only time brenda contacts me is when she and ashley are in an argument, which is often, and she wants someone to be on her side and shame ashley. I never contact brenda to just check in, because she is either talking shit about ashley, or someone else. If we have a disagreement of opinion, the conversation then becomes about how I am wrong and should really rethink my whole existence.
