New to kayak fishing, is this overkill?
Hi all, hopefully this post is allowed here. Not new to fishing, or kayaking, but looking to put them together.
I've decided I want a yak with a drive system, and it seems the consensus is that fin style drives are a bit better for weedy/overgrown areas as compared to propeller drives. I'll mostly be fishing a chain of lakes in Michigan that has some narrow areas covered in lilly pads and weeds when traversing one lake to the next.
These hobie drives seem to get a lot of praise in reviews, but I'm having a hard time deciding if it's worth the extra $ over some other options in the used market around me. Anybody have this setup? Would you recommend it or has a cheaper option done well by you?
