Guess my number one artist!

Haven’t listened to that much music the past month but it’s pretty representative of my taste. Recently I would probably swap Linkin Park and Knocked Loose.

It shouldn’t be too hard, honestly.

How would you rank Poppy’s collaborations over the years?

So I’m a newer fan (boarded ship during Negative Spaces) and I’m curious how people would rank her collabs. I might be missing some of them because I haven’t heard them or because of my shitty memory. For me it would go:

  1. Suffocate - this track is lightning in a bottle and the reason I became a fan. I really wouldn’t mind a full collab album from Knocked Loose and Poppy. Big bonus points for how much it feels like a team effort, a lot of the times the featured artist just blurts out one verse and that’s it.
  2. Dead Flowers - I feel like this track is underrated a little, don’t hear too many talking about it, but I liked it a lot and it actually put me onto Health.
  3. Play Destroy - I am aware of Poppy and Grimes having a fallout because of this but the song is still great, used to be a fan of Grimes before she went off the deep end.
  4. From me to u - very energetic and the contrast between Su’s cleans and Poppy’s harsh vocals is amazing, especially from the second verse onwards. The live performance is crazy hype.
  5. V.A.N. - instrumental is great, really like the lyrics and idea of the song, and I thought it was interesting that Bad Omens let Poppy free rein on it. Great breakdown with Noah.
  6. Scary Mask - I like it less than the others but it’s still great and more unpredictable, listened to it a lot the past few weeks.
  7. Time is Up - I think it’s a cute song, just not really my jam and it’s the only one on my list that I’m not replaying that much. I do enjoy it every time I revisit Am I a Girl though.

How about y’all? There might be some I’m not aware of.

Your favorite anime films outside of studio Ghibli

So I hope this isn’t out of scope for this subreddit.

I want to expand my horizons a bit since Ghibli movies are basically 99% of what I watched in terms of Japanese animation full-length films.

What are your favorites that weren’t released by Ghibli?

I will start by recommending Your Name, which I’m sure a lot of you have also seen. If you haven’t seen it, I think it’s pretty likely you will love it.
