Sent a parcel from Indonesia to UK with address issues, finally got it delivered after 2 weeks of chaos, but now proof of delivery won’t accept the correct postcode
So I sent a parcel from Indonesia to my friend in London via EMS (Express Mail Service / Pos Indonesia) and somehow the address ended up being flagged as insufficient when it arrived at the Coventry Parcelforce International Hub.
The parcel was immediately marked “Incorrectly addressed & Returned to Sender” on 18 May 2026 without even attempting delivery (It was still in the Coventry Hub) To make things worse, I had also entered the wrong flag/reference number on the customs form which added to the confusion.
What i’ve done as a context:
• Emailed Parcelforce customer service explaining the situation
• Uploaded my customs declaration form and proof of the correct address
• Got a response from the agent/CS REP on the Royal Mail export team who put the parcel on ParcelWatch, basically an internal alert system that flags the parcel every time it gets scanned so it doesn’t continue its return journey
What happened afterwards:
the export team rep escalated it internally to the international hub team
• The parcel was held while documentation was reviewed
• Eventually it was cleared and transferred from Coventry all the way down to London East depot
• Today (1 June) it showed “Ready for Delivery” and was delivered!
The ironic part:
When I tried to view the proof of delivery on the Royal Mail website, it asked me to enter the recipient postcode. I entered the correct postcode that Parcelforce themselves updated in their system and delivered to and it keeps saying it doesn’t match their records 😂
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way around it or do I just accept that the parcel made it? Sent this as a surprise to my friend so he hasn’t confirmed anything yet to me but i am panicking RM still deliver it to the wrong person 😭☠️
