Adler 187
Just finished rehabbing an Adler 187. Cleaned, polished and motor rewired.
It's an interesting machine: The handwheel rotates away from you and the motor runs in Reverse. The tension unit is unusual too: Instead of two separate discs where the thread sits inside, the thread wraps around a “groove” on a single disc that spins around (i.e. the thread rotates it); then, as you tighten the front nut, the disc gets harder to spin and adds tension that way.
The hook pops out with a lever too. If you find a 187, make sure it has the bobbin case as it's unobtainable, and the bobbins are hard to find ($$) too. Takes regular 15x1 needles.
