Machine case replacement?

Good morning! I was wondering if anyone knows where you can purchase replacement cases as this one has seen better days. I tried some quick online searches and couldn’t find a brand/model specific replacement. Is this something that may need to be custom made? Thanks!

Did I screw up?

I just packed this up for a 16 hour drive. I tried my best to wrap it in some blankets and pack it up nicely in the car and it didn’t seem like it got beat up in the move. Something seems to be bent? Can I still fix this? What should I do?

Which vintage machine would you choose

Singer 401a in cabinet, no accessories, recently serviced $100

Kenmore 158.1802 no cabinet, some accessories $100

Kenmore 158.19142 for $250

All in working condition

I’m partial to a kenmore because I live in a sears kit house! And my first (and only) machine is an inherited Kenmore 358

machine doesn’t turn off?

a few weeks ago i bought an old sewing machine off facebook marketplace and it runs but maybe a little too well… as soon as i plug in the machine it starts sewing, really fast too. i thought the problem might be the cord cause it’s a bit worse for wear. the cord is for both the power and the foot pedal in one. i looked online for a replacement but i cannot find one anywhere
i have attached photos of both the machine and the plug , please help D:

Any help getting a vintage Bernina 700 bobbin thread to catch? Also does the top and bottom threads need to be under the foot?

I've got the instruction manual (that's for 600/610 as I was informed they're practically the same as a 700) but no matter what I do, and despite it being set up the way the manual says too, I never see the thread getting pulled up into the foot?

My old favorite: Oliva CL50

Made in Portugal in the 1950s. Manual is in Portuguese. All the cams are present. Original cabinet! Amazing what you can find on FB marketplace.

French polish

Hello, can anyone point me to the best resource to learn how to restore the clear coat shellac on my 15-91. From what I understand it requires French polish but I need more guidance in how to do this and not damage the decals.

Singer 15 question

Hi all, I have a question about a this singer. Is there a part that's suppose to go here?

Some background, I don't know a huge amount about sowing machines but I'm good with mechanical stuff in general so I'm trying to fix up an old singer 15-30 for my girlfriend. I think it's a 15-30 anyways that's my best guess. I'm just in the research stage and I'm trying make sure I have all the parts it needs to fully restore it so I can do one big order. So if it's not too much trouble would anyone be able to tell me what, if anything, goes in the spot below the wheel?

Singer 401A HELP!

I posted this on someone’s comment but copying here too. I need help!!

I havr the 401A, recently serviced, and started out loving it but it’s turning into a love hate and I know it’s operator error or learning curve for me.

The thread keeps come out/breaks and then seems like it’s it’s locked up. I’ve checked I threaded correctly. *Watched several YouTube videos to be sure lol. It happens when I am sewing with a couple layers of cotton. Also happens when I go from forward to backward to forward again…. My mother in law told me to always be sure I complete the stitch before changing directions. So I am always trying to watch that. It also happens when I try to switch feet. Any suggestions from people who have one???? I’ve tried different thread to be sure it was good quality. Could it be my needle??

Singer 99

This little 1930 Singer 99 has the most perfect little stitches. I was fighting with my “good “ machine today and decided to pull out one of my display machines. It sews through any thing and is super fast!

Is either of these machines or overlock worth it

Hello everyone! Some folks are selling these vintage machines over Facebook marketplace in my town and I was wondering if they're worth it? They're very cheap and I've hear old machines are a better option.

For the Kenmore I don't got details yet and for the Liberty one I need to replace the leather band and it's very dirty, the seller also mentioned one of the of the inside handles or something (?) but there's a few places I can take it to get it checked so it's not a big deal and I'm willing to fix it if it's worth it. Right now I got a singer heavy duty 🫪 which is very controversial and for what I've seen it's bound to break so I don't wanna let this opportunity to buy a good machine go I would appreciate any insight

Brother 41869 machine

I can’t find any information on this machine, I bought it today and I’m hoping to find a manual because she’s definitely in need of some tlc, currently I know for sure the belt is rotted through and needs replacing. I am very desperate to get sewing again and this was supposed to replace my original that broke until I could take it in to get fixed. Any help is appreciated!

New Home antique sewing machine, USA

I'd love an expert assessment of this "New Home" sewing machine and its cast iron treadle base.

The "1889 Paris Exposition Universelle" gold decals are beautiful and apparently not that common. Based on the machine head's serial number NH93130, I get different answers from AI, ranging from the 1880s to the 1930s. The 1880s date would make more sense given the 1889 Paris Exposition Universelle decals and the base style (Victorian ornamental cast iron, around 1880-1910). It looks like the machine was electrified later.

Any expert (rather than AI generated…) information on the history and market value of this sewing machine would be much appreciated!

I can provide more pics if useful.

Singer 306k

Found this workhorse at a thrift store last weekend. It was marked down to $10!! It needed a new needle and was missing the bobbin case.
Got the parts in today. It sews beautifully!

Looking for help IDing this machine and some advice!

I got this machine for $5 recently and am excited to try it out but I want to find a manual or instructional video first so I don't wreck it. Can anyone identify the model from the photos?

I have very limited sewing experience, I'm completely self taught and have just been doing very simple single stitch stuff on an old JC Penney machine (see last picture). I've had a lot of issues with the JC Penney machine not tensioning correctly and can't sew anything thick like denim etc. Am I likely to have better luck sewing jackets, quilts, etc with this green machine? Sorry for the newbie questions, thanks in advance!

Just got a 327k and I messed it up!!!

Edit/update: as mentioned below, I purchased the service manual and watched many videos on how to fix this issue. After reading the service manual for the 4th time from concert to cover, I figured it out. Needle positioning instructions as well as tuning the arc of the needle as instructed in the service manual did the trick.

I bought this beautiful 327k for $60. I bought it for it's zigzag ability but it won't zigzag after I took it apart to clean it (it doesn't look like it had ever been cleaned. I put it back together with only the left over part in pic 2. Everything works as it should, except the stitch width lever keeps popping back to zero. I took video of myself taking it apart and took pictures, but I apparently missed talking video/pictures of this part. My hand also blocked the view for the majority of the video 🤦🏽. I paid for a PDF of the service manual and searched the web extensively for a solution and I'm still haven't figured out the problem. Please help!?! I really want to get this thing assembled and start sewing. (I can't seem to add both photos and video)
